Don't waste your money every person who checks in gets a different price if you don't book thru the sites. The husband and wife nag for money and wake you up early in am, the housekeeper was wanted for warrants and wasn't paying for her room so cops were constantly coming thru the perimeters. Acs don't work in most rooms and if you want hot water you better pray you get a room that has everything working. The husband sits in the office either watching TV, sleeping or watching every camera on site. Their rude unless your handing them money. They have their favorites and if they don't like you they'll do what they did to me claim there's a rental law and refuse me to pay for anymore nights and i have a child who is on disability. They just sprayed rooms for pests cause their housekeeper had 9 cats in her room that they had to break a window to get into the room and clean it out. Pool is hardly cleaned out so your swimming with dead bugs and whatever else is in the pool and sometimes you can't use the pool cause they'll lock it up. The wife hassled my kids for rent knowing I was at work. How are 2 kids going to pay??? Their in middle school!!! They want their money but hardly fix anything don't expect to get any laundry done cause dryer always breaks and if you hang your clothes to dry they take them down regardless if their wet or dry and throw them in a bag for them to start to mold and smell u til you claim your clothes that just vanished. Go anywhere but here they don't care if your room is up to health codes. We asked nu.erous times for our ac to be fixed and get told by the husband that we have to "deal with it" when the weather is 80+ out and you and ur guest wake up in pouring sweat....if you need something they'll leave the doors locked and not answer - SAVE YOUR CASH AND GO TO ANY OTHER HOTEL
Read moreI recently stayed at this facility during a weekend visit to Williamsburg. I have visited the area off and on for the past 27 years and generally have had good to very good experiences. Such was not the case on this visit. It began with my room assignment. I am accustomed to staying in rooms that have sturdy doors with keyless entries with key cards. In my room, the key card did not work; instead I was given...a key. Although the door had a deadbolt lock, the door itself was neither strong nor safe. Once inside the room, the decorum looked dated and worn, but in relatively clean and in good order. The plasma screen television had a nice picture. All of the light fixtures in the front part of the room worked. The light fixture over the sink did not work. The bathtub was not clean. There was an unrecognizable stain (maybe dried tobacco or body fluid?) and a dead insect (spider?) stuck on the surface. I reported this to the manager first thing in the morning, but the tub was not cleaned until later in the evening when I reported the problem to the manager...again. The person who cleaned the tub was pleasant and apologetic. When I used the shower on day #2 of my visit, only cold water came out. I had the water on for 7 or 8 minutes, plenty of time for hot water to come on. I reported this to the manager at check out. Rather than accept ownership for what I reported and apologize, he went up to my room, checked the water himself, and reported back that the water was working and said it took a while for hot water to come on for the part of the building I was staying. He also suggested that I didn't know how to work hot and cold water. I was insulted, but kept my cool. When I recounted how poor my overall experience was, he seemed to become defensive. I asked if my bill could be adjusted because of my experience, he said no. We talked a few moments longer, then the manager said," Goodbye Sir, God Bless You!" There was no attempt to offer to make things right, appease me as a frustrated customer, or at least give me a number where I could lodge a formal complaint to the ownership group who either doesn't know or doesn't care about the conditions of the motel. Here is my lesson that I want to pass along to you: there is a reason why this facility has so many ratings of "poor" and "terrible". Pay attention to the ratings! For a few dollars more per night, you can likely do better. Caveat emptor - "Let the buyer beware." If you can afford to say at a well known hotel or motel chain, by all...
Read morePositives: Staff was very friendly and check in was a breeze. The pool looked nice and spacious although my husband and I did not use it and it looked like it got clean multiples times a day. The location was close to all the attractions and lots of restaurants. The room was clean and for what you pay is a decent size. There is a fridge, microwave, and coffee maker in the room. The TV was good quality with a wide range of channels to pick from. Water pressure in the shower was pretty good and water stayed warm. The bed sheets and pillows were nice and clean||Negatives: For some reason this hotel does not give you toiletries ( mini shampoo, soap, etc.) which is not a big deal as you can bring them with you or make a quick run to the store. The bed is very hard and rather uncomfortable (which isn’t uncommon in a hotel). The building is right by the train tracks and you can hear the trains going by through out the night (about 3-4 of them) so if you aren’t a very deep sleeper this will be an issue. The WiFi in the room works but it goes in and out a lot. The safe in our room didn’t work. Housekeeping does not come everyday and towels are not changed out. The exterior of the hotel is run down and can make you feel a little uneasy. Although the website said there is breakfast offered in the lobby daily my husband and I never actually saw it. Not sure if we went too early, too late, or they just don’t offer it anymore.||Overall I believe we would stay here again.||Update: The A.C. in our room broke on our last night here, we didn’t bother to ask for it to be fixed since we were leaving in the morning. It did make for a miserable night after many attempts of turning it back on and off, switching it from low to high, and vise...
