I can't wait to try this place, but it won't be today.
The good: -- Spacious -- Huge bar -- Lots of TVs for sports -- Game room -- Comfortable furniture
The bad: -- Seemingly understaffed?
Outside I walked past a group of 4 and a separate group of 2 that were audibly frustrated, seemingly at this establishment. I brushed it off and walked inside. Really great looking establishment and I was excited to stay there for the duration of the NFL games.
I walked to the bar to order a drink and I was 5th in line on the right side. All seats were taken but it wasn't packed, and everyone waiting was polite. I left to check the game room, figuring I can play a few games to waste time, but everything runs on tokens. I searched for a token machine but couldn't find one. I gave up after 5 minutes.
I went back to the bar and half the people waiting had left the establishment, according to the guy in front of me. We watched as the bartender re-served a group of 6 on the left side, and didn't serve a single person on the right. There was one woman entering items on a computer, and another walking around serving tables. That was it.
Nobody greeted us, nobody gave us a heads up, no eye contact, nothing. We all realized at the same time when we saw others being re-served that we weren't going to be eating or drinking there today, so we all left in unison.
Total bummer. I can't wait to try it out later. I don't think I'll go on Sunday again. I'll edit this review when I get a chance...
Read moreJRs is good but it can be varying. Here’s my experience having dined in and done take out over the last few years:
Pros huge portions best items are the lasagna, pizza, their salads, lemon dressing, and really all of their sauces are absolutely delicious staff is usually very friendly
Cons their fra diavlo is the weirdest dish I’ve ever had. We dined in and the amount of jalapeño & jalapeño seeds (which I’ve NEVER heard of in this dish) was borderline criminal. As someone who adores extremely spicy food, it was waaaay too much even for me. sometimes for take out the amount of sauce is beyond minimal (which as a customer doesn’t feel good) for the cost being spent per dish + tip. I’m talking 75% plain pasta & 25% very lightly coated in sauce pasta a handful of times we’ve had to wait 15/20 minutes past latest provided pickup time which.. is what it is
A few years ago I would have never had a single bad thing to say. I think there’s just a lot of inconsistencies that can be easily changed to make this...
Read moreAlways good and solid pizza and wings. These guys know pizza and Italian American style food. I’ve eaten off their main menu with mixed results. Small shrimp and seafood bits. Definitely not fine dining but acceptable. Nice lay out for dining on the restaurant side. Waitress was fast and provided attentive service. The Bar side is a large open space and has a cool game room with old school video games and pool tables. Sometimes this side can get loud. I mean really really loud! Concrete floors and not many walls. Lots of voices drinking and talking and having a good time is great. However the space is very cavernous and stark and well just too darn noisy when busy which it usually is Thursday-Sunday. It’s not a big deal but can be a deal breaker if your looking for a more relaxing environment. Luckily you have a cozy little Italian restaurant side to retreat to if need be. I’m glad you’re here in...
