I took my family of 6 to the Escape Room a few days ago and we all had a blast!
When we arrived, our host Turner greeted us and made sure we were ready (everyone had used the bathrooms, signed waivers, etc.). She went over the rules and then lead us into the room we were exploring - in this case, it was Spellbound (we're a bunch of D&D geeks and had to try it!).
First, the room is comfortably large enough for six people in general and it wasn't stuffy or too cold. It IS dark inside and sometimes hard for my aging eyes to be able to read everything. There's a TV on the wall that will give you hints as our host, Turner, was monitoring. You get three free clues but everyone in the group has to agree to wanting to use it. You can earn more, but we did not do that. We did use up three clues in our escape, and we finished with two minutes left to spare.
Our ages were 21-56 and we had soooo much fun! One clue leads to another. There are lots of locks you need to find passwords to. One thing that hung us up: Some locks need to be reset if you put wrong codes in first, so be sure to check the backs of locks for instructions on resetting.
I did notice the kids who have grown up on gaming were faaaaaaaaaaaaar more likely to figure out the clues than the rest of us, but it was wonderful to spend time with the family. We plan on doing the other rooms as well.
Thank you...
Read moreWe got approximately halfway through the Vermonsters room, it was SO MUCH FUN! Such a creative way to work as a team, I won't give too much away but the clues are just enough to brainstorm and include everyone's unique strengths. The staff was awesome and though the experience is definitely exciting, we never felt overwhelmed. One member of our group has some developmental limitations and they had fun as well! It was a bit warm in the room, I suggest wearing a t-shirt under whatever layers you prefer, maybe have some water just before going in to hydrate but avoid a bathroom break and AMATEUR TIP: HAVE FUN! Don't get too pressured by the time. Maybe bring a small flashlight too so you don't have to reach for the light on a cell phone since some of the items had some small letters and numbers and honestly, it was so engaging, I felt like I was missing out when I had to fumble with the cell to get light. No pics allowed, and like the website said, Google won't help you! Overall, LOVED IT and can't...
Read moreThis was our very first experience as a family doing “ Vermonters”……. An Escape 60 Room in Williston! First of all …… nicest folks running the facility! Our Game Master was Turner……who was not only encouraging, but extremely helpful! 10/10 all the way around! We only got 2 clues per request and found the room challenging and fun! We made it out with less than 4 minutes to spare! Our age ranged from 8-77…… two kids were all over the clues and outcomes. Lots of different locks…… needing, numbers letters or keys! Stories…. Morse code…… deductive reasoning…… all clues are in the room! Turner was supportive before the game, during and after…… she was our stability t/o the excitement, episodic frustration, overwhelming sensation….and our ecstatic ending. This is a GREAT “ sport” to do with the whole family…… and Turner is the gal you need/ want! Thanks again...
