Image of a deletion review discussion on the English Wikipedia. A review is an evaluation of a publication, service, or company such as a movie (a movie review), video game (video game review), musical composition (music review of a composition or recording), book (book review); a piece of hardware like a car, home appliance, or computer; or an event or performance, such as a live music concert, play, musical theater show, dance show, or art exhibition. In addition to a critical evaluation, the review's author may assign the work a rating to indicate its relative merit. More loosely, an author may review current events, trends, or items in the news. A compilation of reviews may itself be called a review. The New York Review of Books, for instance, is a collection of essays on literature, culture, and current affairs. National Review, founded by William F. Buckley, Jr.,[1] is an influential conservative magazine, and Monthly Review is a long-running socialist periodical.[2]

In academia[edit]
A peer review is the process by which scholars or scientists assess the work of their colleagues that has been submitted for publication in the scientific or scholarly literature.
In the scientific literature, review articles are a category of scientific or scholarly paper, which provides a synthesis of research on a topic at that moment in time. A compilation of these reviews forms the core content of review journals. Beyond review articles in review journals, a review may be found in an encyclopedia or a critical book review.[3]
In computer programming and the software development process, a software review may be used.

Read moreThere are many decent aspects to this cinema,a nd it is surely worth seeing, but my experience yesterday revealed some very serious organisational flaws that might be its undoing unless management opens their eyes and assumes some leadership in taking decisive action. I know it's holiday week, etc. But upon arriving 35minutes for a 1pm show, we found dozens of people lined up for the one cashier selling tickets. Soon, we were up to almost 200 people lined up and inching forward, just minutes before showtime. Many of these people had sought to avoid headaches by purchasing online, which, it turns out is a complete waste of time and energy as you need in any case to line up to have your ticket scanned. The fact was that there was one poor guy assigned to sell all tickets AND - incredibly - sell snacks. So, for example, the hungry family of 5 in front of us to ten minutes to process, as they gave all their ticket orders and asked the different between gummie bears and sun sparkles, and deliberated between a small or medium popcorn, etc. The lines started getting more aggressive and unwound as people understandably lost their cool at this poor excuse for professionalism. The cashier did the best he could and it's a wonder he didn't quit on the spot. Management: a simple solution, although it is an investment of a few thousand. It's almost 2022, get with the times, buy a turnstyle type device that actually scans bar codes (imagine the concept!), so that all the people who pre-bought tickets can scan themselves in. Install the turnstyles at the beginning of the corridor to the theatres. There. In one move you eliminate massive frustration and improve efficiency exponentially. Second, do not have a ticket seller responsible for putting butter on the pocorn and explaining all the candies on offer. It was truly pathetic to see...

(2021) went there Friday night to see the Venom showing and didn't have a good experience...
we were told to go to theater 10 but the signs for Venom said theater 7, but then other people were told to go to some other theater, so we spent about 15 minutes going theater to theater to find out which one was actually airing the movie...after we found the theater roughly 15 minutes later probably 30 people walk in 15 minutes after the movie started because they had been sitting in a theater that wasn't on or showing anything, super unorganized and EACH theater we went to reeked of bad odor...
also, for a brand new movie coming out why would they put it in their smallest theater? didn't make any sense. it looked like the movie was cropped because the screen was so small
majestic isn't a bad theater, but after going to essex cinemas for so long my standards are pretty high. the employees are always nice and food always good, this experience was just annoying after looking forward to seeing the movie for months
UPDATED FEBRUARY 8th, 2022: Haven’t been back to Majestic since I posted this review. Gave the place another shot tonight with Jackass. Yet again, more issues. Funny, the theater I saw the movie in was the EXACT same one as I was in last time and it still smelt terrible. Something I’ve NEVER experienced before happened, before the movie even finished its credits or showed all of the post movie bloopers, the film projector literally just shut off. Who knows what us viewers missed. I’m done going to Majestic. So glad I’ve been supporting Essex Cinemas instead. Never dealt with ANY of the issues...
