Grazers is a fine restaurant. They don't have a vast amount of options for food, but what they do have, they have pretty much perfected. The drinks are great, the food is excellent, and the servers are friendly. We will for sure be back.
So, the first half of this post was one I made a while ago. I have been to grazers multiple times since, and every time was a delight. We had a friend visit from CA, and we told her that we had to go to grazers. This was a mistake. I do not know what happened to the food and the service, but we sat for probably 10 to 15 minutes before anyone even came to our table to give us water. Then, we waited another 10 to 15 minutes to get our drinks. Then another 15 to 20 to get our food. We ordered pickle chips and brussel sprouts for starters. The brussel sprouts were completely burnt, the plate of pickle chips only had about 10 to 12 pickle chips on it, and we paid about $9.75 for it, and many weren't fried properly. I ordered the full belly burger, which came out grossly overcooked, and it tasted off. It also looked like they used craft American cheese singles on it instead of a better quality cheese. The poutine was bland, didn't have the typical gravy that you would associate with poutine, and we had to add salt to it. I understand they may have been trying to take the poutine in some kind of "new and creative" direction, but it was nasty. The drinks we got were spot on, and the bartender seemed to be the only competent staff member. The gentlemen who seated us were also pleasant to deal with. The waitress was slow to tend to us. In about an hour and a half, we saw her maybe 3 or 4 times. I understand that it is important to give customers time in between drinks and dishes, and you may not want to interrupt conversation, but I tried to flag her down multiple times. This is over a holiday weekend, so I would expect them to be on their "A game." However, the place wasn't even busy. There were many empty tables in our section, and the waitress seemed to wander around aimlessly a majority of the time. I want it to be known that I have been to grazers, maybe a dozen times, and this was by far the worst experience we had. They are normally a reliable and easy place to bring friends. I will be giving them another chance to right this wrong, but solely because they have always delivered excellent service and food with all my...
Read moreWe got there around 5h30 on a Monday night. Outside seating because of our dog. We were seated by an employee. It was busy- Nobody came to see us after that 3 more tables were seated, they all got a visit, ordered a drink or got water. Still nothing. A table that came in after us left ( because water a meal does not make lol). We just wanted to get back on the road and we’re hungry so I did something I never do… I went inside and mentioned that nobody had seen us. Three people were standing at the counter and said they would send someone to us. On my way out, someone else headed in to complain. Waiter came back with her so they got served. Afterwards, that servers and another came out. One just billed someone and went back in, the other server (ours) went to ANOTHER NEWER TABLE and apologized for the wait (they had barely sat down). We waited to see if he would come to us after. He didn’t even look at us and went back inside. It has been 30min and that was the last straw. We left after asking if this was a joke to the same people standing at the counter. Who tried to convince us to stay by telling us (again) that they would get our waiter.
For context, I spent over 20 years in the service industry. I more understanding than most when servers smile, acknowledge you but can’t get to you/ are overwhelmed for good reasons but this was beyond ridiculous. The waiter had NO idea what was going on, he was walking around with blinders oblivious to anything beyond his current mission which means he had no idea what order people had been seated or anything. Nobody was helping, serving water, …. The waiter had clearly lost control, people complaining, people leaving, no manager showed their presence. A restaurant is supposed to be team work, upset customers means nobody makes money. Bad service means people don’t come back… again nobody makes money. There should be no such thing as “that’s not my job” . Do...
Read moreResponse: That's a lovely script from the manager. It's just the latest spin on the same answer to any negative reviews, just scroll down. A well thought rote response. You'd do better if you'd just train your servers to be present on the floor, even when it's slow. They can do sidework, they just have to pause every few minutes to do a lap on the floor. 2 Years ago, I posted the below review after several botched take out orders. Now, I have to amend it after meeting for a family dinner here (my family who is about to move away chose to dine here). I had to work late and showed up after everyone else ordered, which was fine. All I wanted was my dirty gin martini. It took almost ten minutes after ordering the drink to get it (in spite of there only being two folks at the bar and only two or three other tables on the floor) and there was no gin involved. It was as best I could tell a filthy (not dirty) vodka martini made at least partially with a lemon or orange vodka. Ewww, olive juice and citrus! Especially when I was expecting a gin martini. I would have loved to have let our server know, if she'd been present at any time on the floor between delivering my drink and when the food came out. But by then...too late to correct your error, I'm over it. They do seem to have better quality food now, but I am still determined to never patronize them again. Next time, I'll work harder to convince my family to go somewhere else. That was my bad.
Original review: In addition to one of my items being completely absent from my delivery order, none of my instructions were followed. No dressings were on the side and no additional dressing sides, in spite of "charge as needed," being in the instructions were followed. Thoroughly disappointing. And the quality of what did arrive...none of it was...
