The store is always clean, and most of the staff is really quite nice. I have however, had a couple not-so-great experiences there. The first time, I went in for 1 specific product, and while I was looking around for it a staff member asked if I needed any help (which was nice). I told them what I was looking for, and they told me that the product wasn’t great all, and then joked about how misinformed I was. They then lead me to a product that was 7x more expensive. I bought their recommendation, only to have it do the exact opposite of what I needed, irritating my skin. Come to find out, the product I wanted was actually correct all along. This employee has also called me to repurchase this expensive item on a few occasions since, which I don’t appreciate. Sure, I should’ve been more secure in my own decision, and a better advocate for myself, but this staff member was distinguished from the other employees by wearing a lab coat, so I assumed they were at least a licensed esthetician, and would be more informed about the products than myself.
Next, there has been an item out of stock for about 6 weeks now, but it shows it’s in stock online. I asked an employee about this, and specifically if she knew if it would be stocked soon if it was in fact in the store, I was told “Well, that’s above my pay grade.” and she...
   Read moreMost of the time I enjoy going into the store, but I sometimes feel frustrated when I get asked many times in one visit if I need help to find something. Once is enough. I can ask for assistance if needed. I also greatly appreciate the Up-Cycle Bin to recycle items that the regular trash facility is unable to take care of which is a shame as I’m sure thousands of pounds per year get wasted being dumped in trash. My issue is that the Up-Cycle Bin is so full a lot there is no room for anything else and it was full just a couple of weeks ago so I’m thinking they didn’t change it out recently which does happen. I asked a sales associate on the floor tonight about this and can they please change it out but she said she didn’t know anything about it and was going to leave it at that. I asked for her manager and felt more pushback. Just change the bin please. I also have issues at the register having my coupons rejected but I just see that they scanned the wrong coupon. When you click (copy code) it brings you to multiple coupons and it is hard to see that the one you want is at the very bottom of the page. I wonder if that is done purposely so it’s...
   Read moreI was dragged into Alta with a couple of girlfriends. This is not typically my choice of store to visit as I wear very little make up....I was surprised walking in! It is not only a store that sells high end make up products, but they also have hair products, skin care and boutique specialists available to speak with. I have to admit, I was intimidated at first....I was literally looking like I was a deer staring at a car coming straight at me..... that is until a boutique specialist named Taylor came up to me with the biggest and brightest smile, asking if he could assist me. ....I know he saw the fear in my eyes, because he asked if I was ok. Long story short, Taylor helped me with my anxiety and fear of contouring and showed me a few tricks to do while applying certain products.
