My husband and I have always been a huge supporter of this small business....dining frequently, passing the word along to visit this establishment as well as bringing people there to eat. The owner (?) / waitress can be abrupt as well as entertaining, kind of like Seinfeld's 'Soup Natzi'. We found it endearing until this past Friday night where she was aggressively rude. My son does not eat Greek so we called ahead and spoke to a waitress who told us that they had 3 different types of burgers for my son to choose from. We go to the restaurant and the soup natzi waits on us (after a very long wait I may ad - as if we weren't even there). My son asks about the burger and she curtly says "No, we only do burgers for take out". My daughter explained we called ahead to find out if they had burgers before arriving and instead of even trying to listen for a second, she blames us saying that we didn't specify that we wanted the burger for dine in or take out. I asked if she could just put it in a to go box and just bring it to the table. Again her short abrupt rude response "no, we won't do that.' I stated out loud I really didn't want to eat there any longer and SHE said 'Fine, good bye'. It is unbelievable how ignorant she is If she is the owner. Because not only did she lose at least $150 in business that night, she has lost 2 regular customers, as well as any positive recognition from me going forward. Buh bye Olive Tree and hello to the many other small businesses I look forward to supporting.
Updating to Manager Reply* Thank you for your quick response as well as your continued blame, lack of flexibility (put the burger on a plate for heaven's sake), and lack of customer service in not addressing your rude wait staff. Let me be clear to understand that it is OUR fault that we did not specify on the phone that we were coming into dine to have the burger? Here's a thought. How about your waitress is PROACTIVE and tells us that burgers are for take out only? Thanks for the offer to come back, but there are many other options out there for good food and a kind, flexible, customer service...
Read moreAwful experience & service!.... rude female server who ignored us. Walked by several times knowing we wanted/needed her. No Refill. No Doggie box & no check. She did this on purpose as she turned other way. Got there early & it was not that busy.
Ordering did not go well & this began the downfall. She seemed perturbed because I ask some questions & wanted to make substitute. She even got peeved because I wanted red sauce on penne, not butter.
Food.....menu looked great. Many options. However for me, grilled salmon was too salty. But good otherwise. Mash potatoes ( my substitute) were delicious. Asparagus hard. Not cooked enough in my opinion. Penne seemed like store box kind, not freshly made. Sauce was sugary sweet. No bread was offered or fresh grated cheese & oil. And we had entrees.
Place. Since it's newly opened it was pleasant & clean. Parking lot is odd on angles & slight hill. Entrance & exit separate & difficult. . Not enough spaces.
Overall......I sound so Nitpicking & feel sad for bad review. But it's honest & accurate. Ive never done a review & not a complainer, but the service was so bad & waitress obviously not happy at what she does, I felt the mgtmt should know. I learned from other worker, that establishment is unkind to their workers & other negative things I will not share for their privacy. Olive bistro was not Customer oriented to this patron! This is not their first restaurant so they are experienced! First...
Read moreMy wife and I stopped in for lunch yesterday. Was worried initially that it wasn't doing very well as only one other couple was seated (the previous restaurant here didn't last very long). But lots of folks came in after us, so hopefully that bodes well for them. Menu's expansive and has some nice Greek items which I tried to focus on. We got the Trio of Dips w/ Grilled Pita. Dips were good...the tzatziki in particular was outstanding, and the feta w/ red pepper was tasty as well. Pita was perfect. I ordered the Greek lasagna (pastitsio for those of you in the know)...could've used a bit more of a broil, but I enjoyed it nonetheless. My wife tried their chicken bites in hot sauce w/ bleu cheese. Chicken was grilled really well and could easily be served as slouvaki. We asked about dessert and went with the Loukoumades which are Greek honey balls (small, hot donut holes, covered in honey, cinnamon, & walnuts). First time trying this dish (you can't always get the baklava afterall) and we were quite happy with it. Service was extremely friendly, the main room is bright and airy with a view of the open kitchen, portions were large, and best of all prices were quite reasonable. We'll be back. Lots of dishes to work our way thru! [Note to Manager - You guys need to get on...
