Dairy Queen Grill & Chill — Restaurant in Willoughby

I am displeased with the caliber of service this DQ provides. I honestly expected professionalism and great blizzards, instead we received sub par customer service and horrible desserts. I was a drive thru customer who accompanied my sister to buy blizzards and an milkshake for the family. It has been a few years since we ordered, so we asked the rep for suggestions. Unfortunately this young lady was inept at her job, and displayed it by smart remarks, unknowledgeable on their products, etc. ...At one point she blatantly told my sister to look underneath the DQ sign and she will see their menu. I was at a loss of words, and was in utter disbelief that anyone would treat their paying customers so poorly. To make matters worse, my sister spoke to the young lady at the order pick up window, she informed her of the incident and even recommended that they fire the individual. Instead of taking the complaint seriously, both the pick up window cashier, other employees and manager were laughing. To make matters worse, our blizzards were made awful, and the milkshake was watery. I will not revisit this DQ, nor will I recommend...

We went to this location for the first time. It was a warm day and they were extremely busy in drive through, as well as inside. We went in, there were a lot of people working, especially a lot of younger associates. It was clean inside. I was beyond impressed because they were moving everyone along very fast with low wait times and accurate orders. I told them that we have a tree nut allergy (DQ locations clean the equipment prior to making that particular ice cream treat). I felt bad that they had to do all of that extra work given how busy they were. I did not hear a single complaint from the associates fulfilling the ice cream orders. While we waited, the young man bagging ice cream orders continued to bag for others. Once our order was ready, he stopped to wash his hands before handling our portion of the order for the tree nut allergy. I was so appreciative and was more than impressed with seeing that. Having come from a bad experience at a previous restaurant, my family and I decided to eat dinner at DQ as they offered the burgers and chicken tenders we were looking for. I am astonished at the fantastic level of customer service at this location, especially with the woman at the register, Mari. Knowing the five of us were ordering food and were coming from a negative experience elsewhere, she immediately called back to the kitchen to begin prepping as we ordered. We were able to sit down, where they brought the food to us. The food came out fast and hot, and there were no dingy, gross, old fries. My family was able to relax and finally enjoy our evening together.

I can't thank Mari enough for giving us a pleasant experience. She went above and beyond. While I don't quite live in that area, I hope I can return to that dairy queen location sometime soon simply for the good food and great...
