We've been customers since this location opened and I met Dave and his family at the Farmer's Market. We were excited to have a WBU closer to us and bought feeders, pole systems, suet, and joined the club. We bought the feeders because they were good quality and included lifetime cleaning and repairs. We've had our feeders cleaned annually since we bought them. We had a problem recently where one of the squirrel-proof feeders wasn't operating correctly. I took it into the shop, identified the issue to the person at the counter, and was told they would take care of it and call me when it was ready. I also noted that the free, lifetime cleaning was now $5 for members and $10 for non-members. That's not what we purchased, hmmmm. At least our membership is good for another 2 months before we have to renew and since it's a repair, not a cleaning, this shouldn't matter now. A week or so later I was informed the feeder was ready. I drove 16 miles to the store to find they had cleaned the feeder, but not fixed it. I explained in detail what was wrong and was told that the feeder was operating just fine. It was not and when compared to a new feeder, the difference was obvious. The 2 workers argued that it can only be adjusted so much and that's all they could do. I asked that they discuss this with the owner and either fix or replace the feeder. Over a month later (probably 6 or more weeks since it was fist dropped off), I called to ask if my feeder was fixed, and was told by Dave that it was. He apologized for no one having called to tell me it was ready. In the interim time since I dropped off the feeder, our membership expired. When I went to pick up the feeder I had left for repair, I was asked to pay $10 for the cleaning they performed instead of the repair the first time. I informed them that since this should have been completed before my membership expired, and since I never asked for it to be cleaned, I would only pay $5. This required another call to Dave. This was not an issue of $5, but of being charged for work I didn't request, and after I drove to the store to find my feeder not fixed. We stopped buying suet from WBU a year ago since we can buy suet with the same ingredients for 1/3 the price (and better packaging) elsewhere. Now that the employees are rude and argumentative, WBU charges for cleanings which were free-for-life when we purchased our feeders, and they treated us so poorly, we have concluded our business with WBU Willoughby. I suggest bird enthusiasts look elsewhere for their...
Read moreI stopped by on a Friday afternoon after checking their website to make sure they were open. The open sign was on and all of the lights were on but the door was locked. I called and they said they were only open on the weekends and they would not help me. I was looking for a specific bird feeder to buy. I ended up going home and ordering from amazon. This is not the kind of service I would expect if a business wants...
Read moreThe store is doing pick up only at the time of my writing this. Sarah was extremely helpful and brought several options of feeders and seed out to my car, applied a coupon for me I was unaware of, and then carried out my purchase without my ever leaving the car. I wish I could have gone in the store but I respect the owners commitment to safety and I was sold exactly...
