We've been here many times, both for the buffet and the menu. Both are great!! Today we did the buffet. They usually have two of my favorites on the buffet, chicken tikka masala and paneer tikka masala, not today though, and I have to admit I was a little disappointed, at first, but I know they have a lot of delicious items, so I'm sure it will be great. I was right, it was freaking delicious!! The mata paneer and butter chicken are what took my faves place, and they were both amazing. They also had this deep fried cauliflower, I think it was called golab 95, delicious. Also, not sure what it was called, but it was like fried baby corn with green peppers and onions, wow!! The lemon rice was so good! They also had a a salad bar, sauces, and goat meat, too spicy for me, but the hubby loved it, as well as a lentil dish, and chicken 65 as well as tandoori chicken. They bring out naan, which I'm not supposed to have, but couldn't pass up a few pieces, and dessert. Today dessert was golab julum (not sure I got that right), delicious warm, like a donut hole, but better, drowning in a sugary syrup, and mango pudding for the hubby, since I'm allergic. We had two plates a piece and I snuck a little of the golab julum. As always, everything was delicious. I overheard the one gentleman talking to a costumer, I think he may be the new owner, she was asking him a lot of questions. From what I heard, he was given the recipes and doesn't plan on changing them, and at least one of the original chefs is still there. I hope they keep it going. The older couple who owned it was so sweet and friendly and amazing at what they did, and if it is indeed under new ownership, it is starting off on the right foot! We will keep...
Read moreI have been dining at this restaurant for 10+ years. I like their food. I always tip 20%. Only recently have I found out that they already include 15% service fee in the overall bill and I tipped 20% over that. It would be nice that they would tell me about this charge. Instead, on the credit card signature page, they still leave you with a blank to tip. I am writing this review to remind others.
// updated review: In response to the response from the owner: Dear Taste of Indian, I apologize for not reading the itemized receipt carefully. I apologize for not knowing that it is a standard procedure to charge 15% service fee for a large group. I thought it would be a good idea to bring all my 9 students plus 1 colleague to dine at your restaurant so that they could bring their families later. That's how much I like your restaurant and your food. Clarification 1: I didn't receive a refund and I no longer feel that I need it. The important thing is that my students and I had a great time on November 4th to celebrate they completion of a program. Both the food and the experience totally worth the $32.09 service charge and the $50 tip. Clarification 2: no one brought the receipt to my table. I went to the front desk and I asked for a receipt. A woman printed it out and gave it to me there. Therefore I didn't have time to read the receipt. Again, my mistake. I will be more careful from now on. We love your food. I would appreciate that no one spit in my food next time I am there. Five stars for your food. Five stars for your...

Not great food…Don’t go!!
The foods is no where close to the worst Indian food. It is misleading to the Americans if they eat this food and think this is how Indian food tastes like.
I guess very untrained chef. A glorified and misleading menu. So, I would say try some other place.
We ordered “Sizzling Mushrooms “….I still don’t understand what was sizzling about it. It was just mushrooms…very small size….coated with batter and deep fried.
I paid 8 dollars on tip….on a total bill of 50$….
I am not sure why one would ask full discount and still pay so much on tip. Please don’t lie. Improve the quality of food…
I have uploaded the bill. I am not sure if I see the 10% discount. I am sure you provided that but we never asked for it.
Just don’t argue for telling the truth. I am afraid people will get a bad impression of Indian food.
Again, we tipped for the workers effort, not for the food.
Edit: I am not sure what I need help with. I was born in Indian. I know what Indian food tastes like. The ambience of the restaurant was good…the management was okay but the food was bad. I have my share of tasteless Indian food…but this was on a next level. That is why we had to leave a lot to waste.
I see a lot of responses from you to other critical reviews as they don’t know how to order. Not sure why you have the very standard Indian dishes on the menu if you can’t cook...
