NEVER TAKE YOUR CAT HERE. I dropped my cat off at 7:30am and let them know that my cat is a 13 year old senior, and my first Persian so they know I am new to getting a cat professionally groomed. They called a few hours later to let me know she was done and I asked if it was okay to get her around 3:30 and they said no problem and I thought the groom went off without a hitch. when I arrived around 3:40 the front desk let me know that my cat had an accident, I assumed incorrectly on the grooming table. They did not kennel her and left her in her carrier ALL DAY. She was so afraid of the dogs that she had diarrhea in her carrier. They said this happens a lot. If it happens a lot maybe they should have informed me when they called to say she was ready that it would be better if I went and got her then because it is stressful for them to stay later. Then I was handed the soft pad from her carrier, which was still covered in diarrhea, in a grocery bag tied off. I am baffled this was not rinsed off. Then they said there was an additional $30 because she had to be bathed again. Then they informed me there was a boarding fee, which I refused to pay, as I was at no point informed about such a fee. The $125 groom was already a bit higher than other places I looked at and then they added a bunch of fees. Did they call me and tell me she was getting really stressed and had an accident? no. I would have come to get her immediately instead of leaving her to suffer for several hours. If my cat had a medical emergency like a stroke or heart attack would they have waited until I got there to tell me? This place seriously needs to work on it's communication with clients. If you're going to say you groom cats you need to treat them with the respect you treat your dog clients, it's already hard enough to find cat groomers. I could not be more furious and I will never return or recommend...
Read moreInsane prices for cat grooming. But i brought my 11 year old long haired cat for a cat bath,(bath, brushing, nail trimming, and ear cleaning.) and then receive a call they couldn’t bathe her 45 min later, but they brushed her, trimmed her nails, and cleaned her ears.
I was expecting to still pay for some trouble that went in to attempting to bathe her. I paid 95 dollars and then prompted to tip. I did. And then when we got home my cat looked exactly the same. Hair was brushed to the same extent we are able to brush it at home, nails trimmed i guess and ears cleans i guess. I’m taking their word for it because at this point i find it hard to believe they even brushed her.
But just as a whole i was completely caught off guard and taken aback at paying over 100 dollars for my cat to look exactly the same. I would have felt better had they taken a lot of measures to attempt to bathe her, but 45 min total time spent there doesn’t seem like they had any measures in place to attempt to bath a cat that is nervous.
Overall i left feeling extremely scammed and will not be returning.
The Staff i did interact with was extremely helpful and...
Read moreALWAYS a great experience! Our dogs love everyone at Barker Shop, especially Mary King, Jennifer, and their regular groomer, Mario. Our long-hair German Shepherd had been through numerous groomers in the past, and had always been very difficult for them to handle, especially when they tried to do his nails. I don't know Mario's secret, but now our boy is actually excited to go get groomed, and Mario always does a really beautiful job on him (and with the ridiculous amount of fur on that breed, that is no easy task!) Our other dog, a Staffordshire mix, possibly loves Barker Shop even more - from running to greet the familiar faces of the staff to leading me around the store to check out what new toys or treats are on the shelves, he acts like it's more of a play date than a groomer appointment. Spend a little time in the store and it will become immediately obvious to you how much everyone at Barker truly loves animals. If you want your dog to get a beautiful grooming AND you want the peace of mind of knowing he's in the capable hands of true dog-loving professionals, Barker Shop is the clear choice. I can't recommend them...
