Depending on the person you get, your experience here will either be good or bad. However that's typical for a McDonalds location, along with nearly every fast food restaurant. My last experience prompted me to leave this review.
Along with serving cheap, greasy, heart attacked fueled food, McDonald's offers an app which enables you to get discounts on your orders. However, be warned, as your deals can be rejected if the staff member taking your order inside the restaurant suspects said offer as 'not local'. I've recently run into this problem unexpectedly.
I completely understand using deals that aren't local going against terms or whatever and it makes sense... until you realize those deals I received were from the restaurant's location. You canāt get any more local than that, and Iām not sure what about my offer made it seem not local. When I first asked for a manager, the staff member informed me that she could ājust cancel my orderā and that the manager would āsay exactly what I just saidā implying that she had the power to deny me my request and that she knew better.
Now, Iām not an expert on what I can and cannot do with Mcdonalds deals, however, Iāve been consistently using them with no problems at all for quite some time, and for whatever reason this staff member decided I could not save any money on my order. Once the manager got involved, the situation was quickly resolved as they were able to verify my location and confirm that I was in fact allowed to use said deal today. Iāve never had something like this happen to me before at this location, and Iām just hoping I donāt have to deal with something like this in the future.
On the flip side, if you decide to order through the drive thru, be warned as impatient drivers will cut in line and drive in front of you during peak hours when the location is at its busiest. The way the drive thru is set up, there is only one line of cars that split into two seperate ordering lines before zippering back up into one line again. This location has not barrier or divide on the outermost ordering line that would stop people from cutting, so people being the worst will do so. If this happens, expect your already long wait times to become even longer as two long lines will form and force their way where they donāt belong. I recently also had this problem and all but went off on one driver participating in this horrible practice.
Just a few things to note. There is, and will always be only ONE valid line to order. There doesnāt magically become two lines when you really want to order asap. There are no exceptions, and just because you created a false line, doesnāt mean you should be served before any of the actual people waiting.
In closing, this location is just like every other location that offers cheap food, messy dining areas, and rude staff. However, if you use the drive thru, youāll almost never encounter a rude staff member as everyone Iāve interacted with has always been kind and courteous. I would not visit this locationās drive thru during the lunch or dinner rush as youāll break your horn with how much youāll hit it from watching frenzied drivers become reckless in order to get their...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreToday I visited the McDonalds Restaurant #339 located at 31115 Vine Street, my encounter was nothing but pleasant. I order a Fish Filet meal out of the vat/hot, the gentleman taking the order added a sprite to the order and I stated I did not want a sprite but a sweet tea. I restated I wanted the meal both the filet and fries out of the vat/hot, he repeated it and then stated the meal is going to be fresh and hot. He stated that the cost would be $11.53, so I pulled up to the window and paid $20.53 and received $9.00 back. I then proceeded to go to the next window, and the guy handed me my meal, I asked did it just come out of the vat/the fryer, the young man said yes. I pulled away, reached for a fry it was hard and not hot. I looked at the fish and it was lukewarm. I turned around parked and proceeded to go into the McDonalds. A young girl came over I stated what I ordered and how I ordered it, she took the bag of food to another lady. The other lady came back with the bag of food stating they do not cook to order food. I stated I ordered my food, and I asked the guy taking the order in the drive thru several times would it be hot and he stated yes. The lady rudely said we do not cook to order food. I said then why would the guy taking the order assure me it would be hot, and it is not, and the fries are old and hard. She said well I will get on him for saying that and rudely said there is nothing I can do for you. I asked for my money back, she refused and said there is nothing I can do for you, you can either call the number or the wall and complain or call the police. I then said are you stated you will not give me a hot order or refund my money, and she said there is nothing I can do for you. She then said you can call the police, or I'll call the police, so we both called. When the police arrived (car #835 and #838) they stated that this happens all the time with this lady, they are not sure if she owns the McDonald's or McDonald's direct her to say this to customers. The officer then advised me to contact headquarters for my money back or complain about the lady, I then stated she would not give me her name, as she stated they do not give names. The one office stated he would get the information for me. The other officer said they get lots of calls on this location about this lady. The officer then said, the lady requested I never come back to this location, and I stated nothing on God's green earth could make me come back this location as she is rude and this is ridiculous. I said so this is the type of businesses that is allowed to operate in the City of Willowick, this is unacceptable. I also stated that I would be writing the Mayor of Willowick on this business. Both officers were very apologetic for the lady's behavior. I can say that the City of Willowick does have nice police officers despite this lady/business owner. McDonald's should employ nicer people, and they should be ashamed to have someone of her rude caliber employed. The attached photo is of the rude owner/employee I...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAwful.. The worst experience.. The two lanes were full it was my choice to wait and I did at least 15 minutes. While I waited I ordered a large fry on the app for $1. When I got to the mic. I ordered the buy 1 get one fish sandwich for $1 and a spicy nugget and I also told them I had an app order for the fry. As I was pulling off I checked my bag and low and behold I only had one fish sandwich 2 fries and 1 spicy nugget (without the sauces I specifically asked for) I pulled back into the parking lot and attempted to go inside but the lobby was closed. I called inside and told the man who answered the phone what happened, but it seemed his main concern was did I have my receipt I told him of course I did I never left the parking lot, so he said he would be right out I told him what vehicle I was in he said he saw me and would be right out.. I waited and waited almost 15 minutes later I was steaming because my food was cold so I called back inside and was told the person who I spoke to was the manager and he had left! How do you just walk out and leave knowing there is a paying customer in the parking lot who you literally just spoke to waiting for you to do what you said you were going to do, and get their order correct!!? I waited another 5 minutes for my sandwich to be brought out, but I asked what was the managers name and was told it was John I asked his full name and was told they are not allowed to give out the managers name (when did this start?) Needless to say I was a very unhappy camper all the food was cold except the 1 sandwich, and who eats cold French š fries. I was disrespected as a person and especially as a 50 year customer of McDonald's... I was totally disregarded like I didn't matter... I have never been left sitting waiting for food that was not even coming... This is unacceptable So I definitely will be getting in touch with other people to convey my horrible experience at this location, but this is just my first step... Having managed teams of people including teams of managers I know this one thing attitude starts with management and if I was treated with such disdain by the store manager you can only imagine how customers are treated with out him there. Needless to say my meal was ruined and I could not bring myself to eat a meal that I paid for but had to jump through hoops to get... I paid for a hot meal not a hot mess that would have to again be microwaved... My money down the drain, and now a distaste for...
