Our food was excellent! We had the Beef on Weck and the Get Smashed. Cucumber salad was awesome. Unfortunately the service was absolutely awful. We arrived about 1:15 and the place was packed. Checked out the back patio just in case we needed to sit outside. We ordered and found a seat in the front part of the restaurant. The table of 6 beside us was just getting their food. They ate and left. When we noticed the people who had come in long after we ordered and sat down at the same table, then got their food I went to the cashier to inquire why we had not received our food. She had our ticket, but could not give us an explanation of why we were still waiting for our food even though people who came in after we were seated were eating. By the time we finished eating we were the only people left in the restaurant. Not one other person except staff was there.

The Kitchen Sink (TKC) is AMAZING!! Since I am a major plant lover, I will start with that. The beautiful dining area is full of live plants everywhere (even an herb garden wall). I ordered the Sweet and Savory (Turkey, Brie, apple, pepper jelly and micro greens on a croissant). Hubby ordered the BAD Hot Chicken (pulled chicken marinated in hot sauce, topped with pickles on a cheddar biscuit) which he devoured so fast! We also tried the pork belly burnt ends (to die for) and the crispy cheese roll up (described as grilled cheese rolled up and crispy) also so fabulous. Overall we were soo happy and FULL with our choices and can’t wait to go back again soon to fall in love with everything else on the menu! Go check out this amazing small business that has only been open 3 months but is already killing it. The owners are pretty dope too!

I have traveled to a lot of places and have been blessed to dine at some amazing restaurants. With that being said... Wilmington, NC area restaurants are setting the bar high for great places to eat. One rule of thumb is to embrace the holistic experience of a restaurant by walking around and viewing the decor. The Kitchen Sink is one of the great places to dine at. They have great decor, great staff and an amazing atmosphere. The Shrimp and Grits (Which were off the chain) had a great spicy kick to wake you up for the day...HELLO! My wife ordered Guava Monte Cristo and loved it. If you are visiting Wilmington, NC make sure to visit The Kitchen Sink and enjoy a good dining experience!!!! Let me know if you think The Kitchen Sink is a great place to dine. I will see you there!!!

Friends and I ate here for the first time and so had no idea what to expect. You order at the register and they bring the food to your table. The 3 of us ordered 3 different plates and were all extremely pleased!!

I was interested in the beef on wick sandwich, as it is cooked every day in- house, but I had my reservations about ordering it due to previous poor offerings elsewhere. So I asked how rare the beef was that day, and they actually showed me!! It was red and lean and looked so yummy! And its looks did not disappoint!! Best beef sandwich I've had in decades! They even have fresh horseradish, and are generous with their serving of that.

Out of curiosity, I ordered the mac & cheese, as I've had that dish at so many other places in town, many of whom claim theirs is the best. This was hands down the best m&c I've ever had in any restaurant, not just in Wilmington!!

And while I was looking forward to some typically sweet Southern iced tea, I decided to give their lavender lemonade a whirl. Again, so very pleasantly surprised and delighted, it was delicious!

The staff is very friendly and unassuming and happy to chat with you and answer any questions you may have.

My only beef (hee hee) with the place is that it is a small space, with hardwood floors, and during our lunch a guitarist played. While I appreciate the gesture, frankly it made it that much harder to carry on a conversation.

In essence, I can't say enough about my experience at The Kitchen Sink. I will be back,...

I gave this establishment a 2 star because I have eaten there before for lunch and it has been solid. Unfortunately I tried their brunch for the the 1st time and was utterly disappointed. There was 3 of us, 2 of us ordered coffee, they only had enough for one cup. No problem they would make some more. Well the one cup they gave us was cold, so we told them that. They quickly replaced it with the bottom of what was brewing, which was extremely strong. We would have easily waited for the pot to finish brewing for the coffee. We all ordered 3 different meals. The B.A.D Breakfast, bacon was cold, eggs (ordered scramble) didn't look appetizing (they were dark and looked full of seasoning), and biscuit was hard. She felt as those it wasn't fresh, old. The Harrissa Scramble had no flavor and too much Harrissa paste, came with a pile of side onions, he didn't know what to do with. Lastly the Guava Monte Cristo was just a fail. I love guava, croissants and who doesn't enjoy fried food. On the menu there was no mention of mustard so to my surprise when i bit into it there was mustard in there as well. It was the most strange and awful mixture of guava with mustard flavor i have ever had. I don't know if it was a mistake or it comes with the mustard, since mustard was not on the menu. I left utterly disappointed, we all left a lot of the food. I really wanted to enjoy this Brunch experience. Th ambiance is cute, servers were friendly and...

Love it...another local favorite. My wife and I moved to the northern boundary of historic Wilmington about a year ago. We're stoked b/c this area is up and coming, and Kitchen Sink, very recently open, is part of its evolution. Husband/wife team Alysia/Jason are chasing perfection via superb customer service and tasty fare. Oh, and it's super charming inside. Yes, they are only open for lunch (I think the plan for dinner is months or perhaps a year away), and don't serve alcohol, but it you're hungry around the noon hour, you simply can't beat it. The soups are outrageously good (and soup specials are offered weekly) and my wife's primary go-to. I like something a bit heartier and get one of their sandwiches and a small cup of soup (you simply can't pass up the soup...so grateful they offer a flight). On our last outing (late last week) I tried the La La Love and it was the best chicken salad sandwich I've eaten - the lavender essence was light and a delightful change of pace. For those who are looking for table service, Alysia/Jason aren't offering it (at least for now), but ordering at the counter is easy and Jason and company will bus the table when you leave, so it's all good. Thanks to Alysia and Jason for taking a big risk in opening in our neighborhood...we are big fans and will continue to frequent your...
