Brooklyn Cafe in Wilmington, NC, is not just a cafe; it's a sanctuary of exquisite tastes and heartfelt tributes. The moment I stepped in, I was captivated by the warm, inviting atmosphere and the walls adorned with love for Willie Nelson, creating a unique and homely vibe.
The beignets here are nothing short of heavenly. Each bite was a blissful experience of fluffy, sugary perfection that made my heart sing. The jalapeño kolache was a delightful surprise, masterfully blending the spiciness of jalapeño with the softness of the pastry dough – a testament to the cafe's culinary creativity.
The donuts were a marvel in their own right, each one a perfect blend of crispy and soft, exploding with flavor. The smoothies, vibrant and refreshing, were the ideal accompaniment to the delectable pastries.
But the cherry on top was the cafe's love for dogs, including their graciousness in making a special meal for my dog, Curry. This gesture of kindness made our visit even more memorable. The pet-friendly environment, coupled with the homage to Willie Nelson, added layers of charm and character to the place.

Read moreStopped in this morning because I was looking for something closer to the flavor of a Malasada. They offered two flavors on the day I was there. I bought both the plain and the coconut filled version. The coconut filled version is excellent, not a strong coconut but a slight coconut that compliments the flavor of the doughnut really well. I had the Chai latte with coconut milk and the flavors were married together quite well. While there I learned the history of the doughnut recipe and coffee. Ollie's coffee and donuts, named after the owners mother, use's recipes handed down through the owners family. The addition of a little potato makes a richer more satisfying donut that doesn't give you a sugar high. Ollie knew what she was doing and the owner does a great job with her recipes. When you walk into the Brooklyn Cafe, you're welcomed by a quaint little interior that immediately says welcome home. Sit and stay for a while. They have games available, records that can be played and even dog friendly exterior seating. If you're looking for good conversation with people who love what they do, or just a fresh, homemade donut, you should stop here. For those of you wondering, yes they do offer a few truly Vegan...
Read moreWas looking for a place (totally last minute) for my daughter to get donuts to bring to school as she is highly allergic to dairy and eggs. After frantically looking for a place this wonderful cafe popped up and OMG I’m so glad we found them! I reached out to make sure they had the vegan donuts on available, and was promptly told they were restocking this morning! I called to reserve 6 to pick up. Not only was the worker on the phone extremely helpful he was also so sweet! Luckily we got to meet him a few hours later to pick up our special treats. We can’t thank Ashton enough for all his help today, and we will definitely be letting our friends know what a beautiful establishment this is! Oh and btw the donuts WERE AMAZING. This will be our go to spot next time our sweet girl needs a...
