We ordered papaya salad and chicken fried rice as appetizers. The chicken fried rice was dry, but ok. The papaya salad was a disaster. They tried to cut costs by using iceberg lettuce and sprinkling papaya slices on top. It had zero flavor and wasn't even spicy. They also tried to cut costs by using cheap, soggy, bland tomatoes that looked like it was chopped by someone who never handled a knife before. They did give us little cups of dry chilli powder, fish sauce and chilli oils to add on ourselves but that's not how papaya is supposed to be served. The soup they gave us was a disaster as well. The broth was basically water, lots of sugar and coconut milk. It was disgusting by itself, but on top of it, they threw in huge chunks of dirty mushrooms as garnish like it's gonna somehow miraculously cook in the luke warm broth, lol. But this is where it gets downright disrespectful. They served me pho flavored instant noodles from the Asian supermarket as a $8.95 restaurant dish! I know for a fact because my mother used to give it to us as quick snacks back in the day. I knew it tasted familiar but if I am wrong, then whatever recipe you're using is downright terrible. Pho broth is supposed to be slow cooked with beef, briskets and bones for hours, not hot water stirred with seasoning packets and dry, cheap undercooked noodles. They didn't even add basil to it or even had hoison sauce available for it, just sprinkled some bean sprouts, scallions, beef slices and called it pho. They didn't even slice the beef correctly. Everything was terrible. This place has potential because of it's location but the execution is horrible. This place is ripping people off and they know it. I've been a chef for over a decade, specializing in Asian cuisine so I do know what I'm talking about. We still tipped the waitress well because she was nice to us, but that was it. This has to be the worst Asian food I've ever had. Shut it down or sell it to someone who knows what...
Read moreWe have been going there since the beginning and order out as well, the food was always amazing my husband is Thai and knows his Thai Food, that’s the main reason we go there the food is or should I say was true to authentic Thai Food, but the last two times the food was not good, the Pat Thai was over sauced and way to sweet I got a toothache just thinking about it, the Papaya Salad was way to fishy I couldn’t eat it, I paid for my meal but left it there, our waiter was awesome and apologized for the food not being edible, I told him it’s not his fault he only serves the food not making it it’s the chef who messed it up , anyway I will not be going back there anytime soon there are other Thai Restaurants I’m going to check out, I’m saddened by this because I really like Big Thai so please improve your food and I’ll be back an otherwise...
Read moreThe apps, crab ragoon and Thai dumplings were delicious. Service was fast and the waitress was very nice. But, our entrees were sub-par. The Drunken Noodle had green beans and squash, which we thought strange, but okay. The main problem was w-a-y too much black pepper. It overpowered the dish. The Pork Pad Thai has very good flavor, but the meat was so dry, hard and tasteless, I thought I had been given chicken instead. The waitress verified it was pork with the kitchen, then told me it's supposed to be hard and dry because they use meats with very little fat. Then, she came back after the meal was completely done and offered to get me some chicken. Apparently, nobody in authority was there today, so she took 10℅ off of the Pad Thai, not knowing what the owners would allow. I can't imagine we'd...
