Maroon Monkey Coffee — Restaurant in Wilmington

I’ve been here before and the experience was great. However I just left and we showed up at 3:20 (closing time was 4:00). The barista rolled her eyes as me and my friends came in, we drove 2 hours to come here so that already was unsettling.

Then the first 2 of us to order got our drinks, and they were good, but came out extremely fast - no problem! The last 2 of us that got our drinks also had them sling out quick and when we got in our car it turned out the last two had steamed milk with syrup NO espresso was put. She also didn’t even respond when we greeted her. Not sure what her issue was but even if she was having a bad day and wasn’t a good mood serving us coffee instead of hot milk for $5 a cup would have been...

Ordered a latte, it was awful (what little espresso you could taste was acidic and unpleasant) and the milk was steamed way too hot. I wouldn't have gone out of my way to write a review about it but on top of that, the barista who served us was very icy and standoffish. I didn't think much of it but when a regular customer came in to order, the difference in treatment was glaringly apparent. I don't at all expect or think I am owed sunshine and smiles but it's not particularly fun when the barista looks visibly annoyed when you're giving your order (and this is coming from someone who worked as a barista for a few years).
