Mediocre experience. Very disappointing. 1.Didn’t have the Anchovy appetizer - we were told it was out of season but the menu did not indicate it was a seasonal item. There was a rough/sticky spot on the table that caught my husband’s fresh glass of wine. It spilled all over the place. Staff helped clean it up but left my feet in a pond of wine. There was no offer for a replacement. We waited about 40 minutes for our food, while watching people who came in after us be served. They were not busy. We had reservations. I ordered MahiMahi, chargrilled. It was overdone, very dry. I was concerned I would choke on it. When I asked for some melted butter to try to moisten the over cooked fish, I was told the butter was all frozen. After I told the server, John, the fish was very dry and overdone, he found some melted butter. He did not offer any compensation for the over cooked fish. My husband ordered the Black Sea Combo and it was delicious.
I was very disappointed. Unlikely to return and if we do, I will not order fish which is the only reason we went there in the...
Read moreWhat an amazing experience, we started with the appetizer platter the hummus was fresh and tasty the falafel was good the eggplant delight was DELICIOUS! The grape leaves were good but I prefer mine warm not cold and there’s is cold but good overall. Our main dish was the special for the day which was a sea bass and it came with the rice and vegetables. The vegetables were shredded and lemony and good the rice was soft and tasted fresh. The fish was good and buttery and flaky it was grilled and cooked perfectly. The deserts were to die for! The kunafe was AMAZING and just like my Tata used to make. The Baklava was fresh and delicious. We left not a crumb on the plate. The Turkish coffee was awesome as well.
Overall food was fresh and delicious and it was like walking into a family members house and having a good meal. The place was clean and lively. The customer service was great. As a fellow small business owner it felt good to support this business. 10/10 everyone should...
Read moreI love it when I accidentally find a real gem of a restaurant. I’m a foodie at heart! We are vacationing in Wilmington, NC and happened up on the Black Sea Grill. It said it was Mediterranean online, which I love anyways. But it encompasses a very large area so it could be anything really! It turned out to be Turkish!!! Again, I’m in Wilmington, NC so yep I was shocked. There happened to be a local guy picking up his dinner and he raved about it, so I just had to try it. As I’ve been to Istanbul, Turkey I know a good Turkish meal and this was honestly one of the best! I had the mahi-mahi mahi and my husband had the chicken and beef grilled dinner. They were both amazing! The meat and fish were sooo tender! Mahi-mahi can be dry but this was mouthwatering. So if you’re a local and haven’t tried it yet, you should as it’s on your doorstep. If you’re visiting and want something a little different, I highly recommend the...
