Mediocre experience. Very disappointing. 1.Didn’t have the Anchovy appetizer - we were told it was out of season but the menu did not indicate it was a seasonal item. There was a rough/sticky spot on the table that caught my husband’s fresh glass of wine. It spilled all over the place. Staff helped clean it up but left my feet in a pond of wine. There was no offer for a replacement. We waited about 40 minutes for our food, while watching people who came in after us be served. They were not busy. We had reservations. I ordered MahiMahi, chargrilled. It was overdone, very dry. I was concerned I would choke on it. When I asked for some melted butter to try to moisten the over cooked fish, I was told the butter was all frozen. After I told the server, John, the fish was very dry and overdone, he found some melted butter. He did not offer any compensation for the over cooked fish. My husband ordered the Black Sea Combo and it was delicious.
I was very disappointed. Unlikely to return and if we do, I will not order fish which is the only reason we went there in the...
Read moreWhat an amazing experience, we started with the appetizer platter the hummus was fresh and tasty the falafel was good the eggplant delight was DELICIOUS! The grape leaves were good but I prefer mine warm not cold and there’s is cold but good overall. Our main dish was the special for the day which was a sea bass and it came with the rice and vegetables. The vegetables were shredded and lemony and good the rice was soft and tasted fresh. The fish was good and buttery and flaky it was grilled and cooked perfectly. The deserts were to die for! The kunafe was AMAZING and just like my Tata used to make. The Baklava was fresh and delicious. We left not a crumb on the plate. The Turkish coffee was awesome as well.
Overall food was fresh and delicious and it was like walking into a family members house and having a good meal. The place was clean and lively. The customer service was great. As a fellow small business owner it felt good to support this business. 10/10 everyone should...
Read moreThis place has been on my list for years and I'm kicking myself that I didn't get here sooner. It is delightful! From the warm welcome to the Turkish coffee & to-die-for baklava, our group of 5 enjoyed a lovely and memorable lunch. The generous amount of gyro meat was thinly sliced and deliciously seasoned. Salads were very fresh with a traditional, light dressing. In particular our group gave high praise to the Shepherd Salad and the Vegetarian combo, but we'll all be back soon for the baklava! It is ridiculously good and made with pistachios. What a treat! Next time I go back I'll take pictures. Prices were very reasonable. The place is cozy so I recommend making a reservation or catching lunch there mid-week when it's less busy downtown. Take out seems a popular option as well based on the orders I saw going out the door. If you've been sleeping on this one like I was, get over there and support this local, family...
