Scooter's Coffee — Restaurant in Wilmington

I visited this location on the morning of May 10. I’m only writing this review now because I had initially contacted Scooter’s corporate office in hopes of receiving a response regarding my experience—but unfortunately, I never heard back. Since I did not receive any acknowledgment, I’ve resorted to leaving this review here.

That morning, I placed a mobile order through the app for three breakfast sandwiches (ordered without meat) and some pastries. The app clearly gives you the option to order sandwiches without meat—it’s not a custom or special request, just a standard selection.

As I waited at the drive-through window for my order, I overheard the employee (a young woman wearing a black hoodie and large black sunglasses) complaining to her coworker. She said she was “sick of people ordering sandwiches without meat on them” and “sick of taking this crap off the sandwiches.”

I can only assume the sandwiches come pre-made with meat and have to be adjusted by staff, which I completely understand might be a mild inconvenience—but that’s part of the job, and it’s something the app clearly allows customers to do. What was upsetting was the fact that she was openly and rudely venting about it while I was sitting right there in the car, as if I couldn’t hear her or she simply didn’t care.

It made me feel uncomfortable and unwelcome as a paying customer. I sincerely hope that corporate received my initial feedback and has since addressed this issue with the employee so that no one else has to experience this kind of treatment. I had the most incredible experience at Scooter's Coffee in Wilmington! This brand new drive-through location has set the bar high for exceptional customer service and efficiency. From the moment I pulled up to the window, the staff greeted me with genuine warmth and friendliness, making me feel welcome and valued as a customer.

The speed at which my order was taken and delivered was truly impressive. Despite the drive-through-only format, the entire process was seamless and efficient, ensuring that I received my delicious coffee and treats in record time without sacrificing quality.

Speaking of quality, the beverages and snacks were absolutely top-notch. The attention to detail in crafting the perfect coffee and the delightful variety of treats available made my visit even more enjoyable.

I am giving this place 2 stars based on the lacking selection. So I have never liked sausage patties/sausage biscuits. There's something about the way they are processed to where I simply don't like the taste. This was never an issue for me getting breakfast at restaurants that serve biscuits in the past because I could always get the classic American "Bacon, Egg, and Cheese Biscuit." That's one of the most common types of biscuits you see on a menu. When it comes to Scooter's Coffee, well they don't have a bacon egg and cheese biscuit for SOME reason. All they had available on the menu was "Sausage,Egg and Cheese---yuck, and Egg and Cheese. Sure, I could have just ordered the egg and cheese, but then where's the bacon? Oh wait, they have bacon a mile down the road at Bojangles. If you want biscuits, just go a little further down the road and do Bojangles. They actually have options there. As for Scooter's, I guess I just don't have a reason to ever...
