Semo's — Restaurant in Wilmington

This place has decent food most of the time. I love the white sauce that goes with the chicken and rice! I ordered delivery from GrubHub and asked for a specific amount of extra sauces in the instructions of the entrees I ordered because there is no menu option to order the sauce individually. I stated that the extra charge for these sauces was okay. I was happy to pay and included a huge amount over a reasonable tip (over 40 %) so that it was obvious I was happy to pay extra. The order was delivered and there were zero extra sauces!!! I called the restaurant with this issue and was told there's a $1 charge for extra sauces... So I again explained that that is perfectly fine that I'm happy to pay the dollar for each sauce but that there is no option to order the sauce alone and I had put it in the instructions but I did not receive sauces and would like the sauce in order to eat the food. I was told that wasn't their problem... I don't leave reviews often and I get that GrubHub and the restaurant itself are two different entities but I was more than happy to pay the amount, there's just no way to order them and to be told that's not their problem sounds like they don't want the business so I just thought I'd share... don't expect to get...

I had the worst experience. The employees never acknowledged me in the store even tho i was the only customer in store. I said hello, and they looked at me and didnt speak back! I left out to wait and as i was exiting, someone else was going into the store. 2 mins later that same person was walking out with there food. I went back in the store just to find that my order was still not ready. I reminded them that my delivery order was marked as complete and should have been ready 5 mins ago and he told me, i can just CANCEL my order Next time, if i don't like how they operate there business! I was shocked!!!! Because of my experience with the rude employee, I will never patronize here and I was only there to pick up a prepaid delivery order that wasn't even for me!...

The food is not affordable but it comes quickly and hot. There are so many options. I got the Lamb and shrimp on rice with fresh salad literally on the platter (I didn't want it warm but should have just asked for it separately). The white sauce goes well on the salad too! I was able to eat from the portion twice. It cost me $13 and I got a small fry which is the equivalant of a medium ($2) and a can of brisk which cost $1. There is nowhere to sit and eat, only a few chairs to sit and wait for your food. The high countertops remind me of big city bodegas. There are so many options though, like pizza 🍕, cheese steaks, fried chicken and so much more....
