This is certainly one of the better breweries in ILM. It's a brewery where instead of having 40 brews on tap and only 5 of them are good, they'll have 5 or 8 on tap and almost all of them are absolutely delicious. Even when I have beer there that is not my cup of tea, like a kolsch, it's still plainly obvious that the beer is tasty and someone who appreciates that genre of brew will appreciate it. I actually hate goses (and most sours) and my favorite beer in all of Wilmington is their La Roma Gose. It's a tomato sour and it's fantastic.
Which brings me to my second point. This is a brewery that dares to be unique and it usually pays off well with them. If you go there and you see something on their menu that appears to be funky, try it out. It's probably delicious. They have regular craft stuff too but if you decide to step out and try something different, the Waterline crew will reward you.
Then the last thing that I'll mention is the staff and the venue. The people that work there love craft beer. They are kind and a pleasure to be around. I share mutual friends with some of Waterlines crew. It's not uncommon to run into them when I'm out and they are just a pleasure to be around. They bring good local bands and food trucks to liven up the space. They'll host markets in their space and they share the building with an art gallery that features the late Ivey Hayes along with other local artists.
The last time I was there, I got drunk on really good beer with my friends, bought some pickled okra at the farmers market, and ate it while I watched a live band and I ubered home....
Read moreThis is a really good place with their own beer and unique beer. The staff was friendly nice and they really know how to make a good suggestion for you. And if you don't drink like the silent traveler myself they do offer quite a bit of non-alcoholic drinks as well. It's a good place for live music as well and if you're into art there's actually a art store next door with painting sculptures of a variety of different styles of art that will catch your interest. Definitely a good place to meet up with friends hang out have some really good beer. The only thing I would suggest for this place is having some sweet tea with lots of lemon on the side get that North Carolina feel. There's nothing like having some good sun tea from the beach side of things. But the staff really good the beer really good the atmosphere really good. So again from the silent traveler this place...
Read moreMy husband and I really enjoy this brewery! The staff is super nice and friendly, and it has a very laid back and relaxing vibe with lots of games to play (like board games and outside ones too) and is very dog and family friendly that seems to attract a nice mix of ages and people both with and without kids. We enjoy the live music especially, and they host several really awesome food trucks too.
Their Coffee and Cream beer is my personal favorite, but they have several very good brews! It's perfect for us in particular as it isn't far into Wilmington (being just over the Cape Fear Memorial Bridge), and it is a perfect place to spend some down time on a hot or cold Sunday because of the AC and heated areas that are dog friendly along with the other obvious plusses. I definitely...
