My fiancé proposed to me 8 weeks ago with a loose diamond because he wanted me to design the engagement ring of my dreams. We live here part of the year and thought about having it designed in Raleigh with some friend’s recommendations. Since he bought the Stone in Wilmington and we got engaged (and probably married) in Wilmington, I felt compelled to have it designed and made here. After digging through the internet, A Scott Rhodes kept coming up (54 amazing Google reviews), so we set a meeting with Scott! We brought the diamond and my ideas with us (specific colored sapphires, double halo cushion cut and a scrolled W on the side with a bezel set sapphire for my future last name) but hadn’t planned on committing on the spot. After meeting with Scott, his enthusiasm about my ring was contagious. He explained the process, gave us a time frame for completion and an estimate. We rusted him immediately and we left the store with nervous excitement. Scott sent us the CAD design for my ring, had us come in to approve the sapphires and delivered pretty close to the promised date, even coming in slightly under budget! When we picked up my ring yesterday, my fiancé and I were blown away! It exceeded all expectations we had! It is a one of a kind, breathtaking ring that I will stare at everyday for the rest of my life! We have not only found our go to Jewler but also made a dear friend in Scott! Thank you for taking my ideas and turning it into an heirloom...
Read moreI can't express how pleased I am to have worked with such a dedicated and caring professional to design and build the rings of a lifetime! Mariah and I had a "crazy" idea in mind and after talking to all the typical big-box chain stores, we quickly realized our idea wasn't something they were truly interested in creating. She happend to be walking downtown one day and by a stroke of luck found Scott's shop and popped in to say hello. What an amazing find! After a brief conversation and tale of what we were looking for, he quickly became as excited as we were to embark on our unique project. I'm very happy to report that we didn't even build our initial design idea, Scott helped us research and learn about what we wanted and why the path we ended up going was a far better choice. I'm also super happy to report that this wasn't a cleaver upsale technique, in fact he could have just built the "crazy" thing for us. Instead we learned about several things together, and my wild design ideas drove the final price. The final result is that we have a quality wedding set that will last several generations, and Mariah will never have to worry about seeing her ring in a glass case or on another hand. We'll complete the set on her hand...
Read moreI came to Scott with a very special request. I have a ring that is more than 50 years old-it belonged to my Grandmother. The one very special item I have left from her. It was worn, breaking and I had lost a diamond. I'd taken this ring to multiple other local jewelers and no one would touch it! They all told me it was beyond repair - recommended I scrap it and use the stones for something else. No one understood the immeasurable value of this ring to me. Scott was my last hope. Not only did he tell me he could 'fix it', he told me it would be good as new.
I picked the ring up today and could not believe my eyes. Scott performed a miracle and saved my grandmothers ring! I was in tears as I placed it back on my hand and words cannot express my joy and gratitude for the work Scott did for me. I showed the ring to my mother and, with tears in her eyes she said " Grandma is smiling right now knowing that ring is back on your hand where it belongs"! I can only imagine that it looks exactly like it once did, all those years ago when my Grandfather gave it to my Grandmother.
Thank you Scott. this was never about the monetary value of the ring....it was always about my...
