I dont leave the house often, not just because of covid or flu season and having lupus, but mainly because it requires pants. But it was my best friends' anniversary, so for the sake of their celebration I chose to make an exception. Had this been the biggest issue of the evening I would call it a win, but the experience we had this evening was one of those "cannot make this s**t up" evenings. (This is a summed up version, because I simply dont have it in me to describe all the crazy that occured in the evening)
On a scale of 1- "drinking since noon" our server was "2pm margaritaville" I understand 2020 is rough & we've all considered day drinking at some point in the year, but this server took "hold my beer" to a level of overachiever. I think she wore her mask once in the (what seemed like) dozen times she was at our table, but that is a MINOR issue in comparison to the rest of the evening.
We should've left after she asked us to repeat our order the 3rd time and couldnt stand in one place without swaying, but we really love their sushi, so we thought it would worth it in the end. OH BOY WERE WE SO VERY WRONG. We finally got our hot food after the 5th time of repeating the order and receiving someone else's order, but still had yet to recieve our sushi, the item that didnt require cooking.
About 10 mins passed, she gave us our check, asked if we wanted anything elese, and we stated "yes, we are still waiting for the sushi. After the 6th (YES, SIXTH) time she asked us to repeat the sushi order and 2nd time she blamed the kitchen for it, I had to tell her "no, I will not repeat it AGAIN." At this point, she had to have known our field of F's was baren, and told us she wouldn't put the drinks on the bill. (The drinks that took her 3 tries to remember by the way) I'm guessing in attempt to salvage a tip since the service was (to put it plainly) a bag of cats drowning in a river.
We used to love this place. But the fact that it was dead on a Friday night should've been enough red flag to go elsewhere. Next time i want to spend an hour trying to get a drunk woman to remember how to be a semi functional adult, I'll go visit my drunkard aunt during happy hour and order pizza.
AND NO, AFTER ALL THAT, WE STILL NEVER...

Settle down folks, the Magnificent 3 have you covered as we visit one of the best Sushi places to go and will save your wallet. How so? Just ask the manager about the happy hour ;).
That's right folks happy hour for Sushi as there are tons of options to choose from for half price! Yellowtail Sushi, Onigiri in a Nigiri style and of course my favorite Shrimp Tempura. Mmmm, just thinking about it wants me to return and enjoy the experience all over again.
I will admit, the manager totally made the experience for us for his outstanding service. Even was humble enough to admit that what we thought was fast service, was slow service for his standards. For that, I gave him extra tip money because he was just that good.
But wait, what about the food quality? I'll tell it as it is...the sushi will speak for itself! That's right, each sushi eaten tells a different story that every taste bud on your tongue will become Japanese cultured. Not to mention the Gyoza. Oh the Gyoza was the best gyoza I ever had, and so fresh that I wanted to just tell the chef, "Please make me a whole crate of them." It was so delicious awesome!
So do your wallet some justice and come here ladies and gentlemen. You will love not only the service, but the tasty stories that every food item will tell from the tongue down to your stomach. You will enjoy this place and the...
Read moreI'll break this down based on things to consider for a good dining experience.
I had previously dined at this location when it was a Nikki's Sushi franchise prior to the remodeling and name change to Yoshis.
Dining area: new industrial look with open ceiling is nice, however I am not a fan of the close proximity and minimalist dining area with little space between all of the tables. It's like on large room with a bunch of tables very separated from The nice bar. Booths built into the walls are super uncomfortable.
Service: a lot of young guys. He came up and did some quirky hand whirling, did not say his name, or welcome, and said "what's up guys want some drinks"..very casual...which is fine, but made a weird first impression. Service overall was good. He came back frequently enough.
FOOD: I came here on the advice of another Nikki's location that they had awesome ramen bowls that were big and authentic. So, my date and I both ordered ramen. My date ordered steak ramen. I ordered shrimp ramen and specified that I'd like it with tonkatsu (pork broth). We got the food fast enough, but my date's steak ramen had NO broth at all and even less flavor. He assumed it would be served with regular broth, and I guess the only reason mine had any was because i asked for it? Shouldn't ramen have broth? Mine was okay but actually quite bland. The boiled egg was the best part. Stick to their poke bowls and...
