I booked a 1 night stay after visiting my sister who is in the hospital. We checked in and went to room 229. In between the front desk and room the hallways and elevator floors were disgusting. Once to our room it smelled stale and had a stitch to it. I pulled back my covers to find black particals all over the sheets. I called down to the front desk and reported this and was told I would get another room. Once to the front desk I received a new key for room 331. Once to 331 I performed my same routine and found a bed full of hair. Hairs from legs, head, and probably pubic. I was hot! š” I called down to the front desk once again to report this issue and was greeted very differently! "Sir I can't keep moving you, you can stay or checkout. I am not allowed to keep moving you. I might can try one more time but if this doesn't work I can refund you and you can checkout!" I said wait ma'am so you mad at me because I found these issues and these room aren't clean? "No I'm not but I can't keep moving you but you can come down for a new key. On my way down I decided just to checkout. But once I got to the desk, there was no one insight so I waited. The lady then comes out with an attitude and I kindly told her that I would prefer to just checkout and she said "that's fine". I asked for a manager and she proceeds to tell me that she is the manager on duty š¤. I asked for the general manager's business card and she stated I already talked to him and he's aware of the situation. I also asked who does the sanitary ratings for the hotel because their rating posted on the wall is a 97% š¬. I informed her that I would be looking further into this and this is not over. I took plenty of pictures as you all will see if there is a place to post. First and foremost I am a gold member of Bonvoy and have stayed at many Marriotts across the country and this is by far my worst experience. I was not greeted with the traditional "thank you for being a Bonvoy member, no gifts, no upgrades or anything. This hotel managerial staff needs to be retrained on quality customers service and the cleaning manager should be included in this. I kindly told the manager that I would be going to the hotel Marriott next door and she almost looked at me as if my experience there would not be better. Well to her surprise the rate was just about the same and here at the Towneplace Suites they should excellent customer service. I was greeted with all thee above verbage for being a Loyal Bonvoy members, upgrades, and gifts plus this hotel smells so good and is clean. My room was excellent! I have not spoken to the general manager of the Fairfield Inn Marriott of Wrightsville yet but do plan on ASAP! If you read this I would not recommend staying at the Fairfield Inn Suite, stay at the Towneplace Suites of Wrightsville...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe had to change rooms upon arrival because they put us on the bottom floor right by the parking lot, and there was an obvious long black hair on the edge of the tub. How does one not notice that? Also the room had an unusual odor, and I specifically specified that I wanted a room that was absolutely a non-smoking room with no odors! The pictures are not accurate for the breakfast. There are no waffle irons, no bacon, no croissants, and no scones. They did have prepackaged sausage biscuits, and prepackaged quiches. They had packaged muffins. There are no glass coffee cups or glass juice glasses, but that is no big deal, but they shouldn't have pictures reflecting that they are. The gym was so hot that the remote controls to the tv were sticking to the pockets of the treadmill which were a nasty, sticky mess! They need fans in the gym area. They are not properly cleaning this room. It was a petri dish! My other pet peeve is that they only put 3 pillows on a bed designed for 2 people, so when you want to prop up to watch tv, only one person gets 2 pillows! That's just CHEAP! The guest should not have to be inconvenienced by calling down to the front office to ask for an extra pillow. Also, there were no blankets. One bed had a fluffier coverlet than the other, but when you are visiting in February, you need to have some blankets in the room. Overall, it was a good value for the money. I wanted a hotel with a free breakfast, and an indoor heated pool. This hotel had both. BTW: the pool is much smaller than it appears in the pictures, but thankfully we were the only ones in it on the first night, and there were only 2 other people on the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe hotel was okay. Stayed here for Beach 2 Battleship, so really only slept in the hotel and that was it. Checked in Friday night, woke up, did the Iron distance triathlon, went to sleep, woke up left. I'm giving it one star because I forgot something in the room, a custom triathlon "kit." Paid over $200 for it. Was a little tired Sunday morning when I left, forgot to grab it off the towel rack. Called as soon as I got home, less than a 5 hour drive away. Lady I talked too basically blew me off, put me into housekeeping voicemail. Never heard back from them. Called the next day. The guy I talked to was helpful, looked a few places, couldn't find it. He told me the head housekeeper would call back by Wednesday. Didn't happen. I called them. Didn't get anywhere...again. Housekeeper finally called me on Thursday, but the staff member who cleaned my room wasn't in, so she had not had a chance to talk to her. She told me the manager would call me on Friday. She was very apologetic, which I think was because of the fact that I had emailed Marriott corporate which seemed to light a fire under them somewhat, but ultimately didn't get me any results. Though contacting corporate finally seemed to get the people at the hotel to care about my problem. Got an email from the manager apologizing. No one had seen it. Don't know why anyone would want to keep my sweaty tri kit, but someone kept my sweaty tri kit...or possibly just threw it away. Anyhow, I'm out $200, and the manager is very sorry, but they are not responsible for items you leave behind. Horrible customer care and no sense of urgency when I...
