My fiancee and I arrived at 11 to grab food since most other restaurants were closed at this time. We were told there was a 15 minute wait, but sat and waited by the door for 30 minutes. The hostess disappeared, no one acknowledged us, and the two individuals that came in after us sat themselves at the bar as we still sat and waited. Multiple parties left, but we still continued to wait. The couple in the booth near the door acknowledged us and conversed with us politely. They mentioned they had issues with their experience as well, and even asked their server to grab the manager for us as they had previously done the same. This couple was more friendly and helpful than any other staff member here.
The manager came over, nonchalantly, and acted as though it was no big deal. He sat us down and we began looking over the menu. Our waitress came and she was quite rude. We started with an appetizer and mentioned the half-priced appetizers. She interrupted us to say "hold on, I'm going to get my pad out because I know y'all are going to order a lot." I was immediately disappointed that this assumption that was made. We also placed our entree order at the same time, and was interrupted and told to "hold on" several times. She appeared frustrated and either sighed or said a negative remark about her night every time she passed our table. We were her only table, and she did not seem to sigh or speak when doing any other task or when walking by anyone else. At that point, my fiancee and I felt attacked as if she was taking out her frustration on us.
While we waited for our food, we also noticed individuals at the bar getting loud and yelling across the bar. Some seemed very intoxicated, and I had noticed two individuals also vaping at the bar. We also felt uncomfortable as two women briefly threatened one another at the bar. We weren't entirely sure if they meant the threats towards one another, or just talking loud to sound good, or what, but it it was very uncomforting. We also noticed another individual that went into the kitchen at one point, and was also behind the bar at one point. We're not sure if she works there and was off the clock, or if she was a regular customer, but it seemed very unprofessional that this happened. It was as if none of the restaurant staff was in control of the bar area, or was almost scared to neutralize the situation.
30 minutes after ordering, we received one of our two appetizers. It was warm, but not hot. My fiancee called the manager over and told him about the interactions with our waitress and that we would like to get the remaining parts of our order to go. The waitress came near our table at the end of our conversation with the manager, food in hand. She then seemed compassionate and asked if everything was okay. When the manager informed her that we were going to get everything else to go, she sighed again before setting our food down. The manager seemed nonchalant the entire time, and didn't seem to care too much about our experience. We paid the check and left afterwards. We weren't expecting a discount or anything like that to be offered, but in this case, it certainly would have been nice considering how disappointing our experience was. It would have also potentially changed our minds about returning to this location. We've eaten here several times over the years, and this was by far the worst experience. We drove 20 minutes out, waited on a table and then for food for over an hour, only go drive home practically with a to-go order. We got home, and also noticed that my fiancee's burger was not cooked well-done as requested. It was pink all the way through. My chicken tenders tasted overcooked and dry as well. This was extremely disappointing as we have never had an issue with their food until now.
We will absolutely not be coming back to...
Read moreAfter doing some furniture hunting on the weekend and coming up with nothing, we decided to eat at Applebee's.
Walking in we were immediately greeted with happiness by the hostess. I must say the lady who seated us was nothing but a breath of fresh air to communicate with. She made the initial experience a great one.
We waited for almost 10 minutes before our waitress arrived. It wasn't too much of a problem for me and I didn't notice it until the wife mentioned it. We were talking so the time seemed to go fast in my mind.
By the time she came we already knew everything that we wanted. We ordered our drinks and an appetizer along with our meal.
The drinks came but the appetizer did not make it. By the time we got the food, the appetizer just a footnote in memory.
No big deal on my end or for.my wife. I just want to make sure that we weren't charged for it ultimately in the end.
The food was good. The wife said her food was good . Her only issue was her mac and cheese didn't have very much cheese on it , although she says it tasted good. For me, it was my typical expectation when going to Applebee's. Nothing was off with my food. The waitress on the other hand, was a different story. She seemed to be new or had some internal issue with us or was extremely overwhelmed.
Usually when the food is brought to the table, they take a little bit of time to figure out who ordered what. She came to the table and just put both meals down and left.
I normally am able to get refills of my drink but with the lack of her presence I was left thirsty, while eating the ribs.
To her credit, she did ask how the food was but at this point everything was almost long ago eaten.
And at the end of the meal before the bill was even in my hand she was asking to process my credit card.
When she brought it back she only had one part of the receipt. Of course the one with the tip but the breakdown of what we paid for, I had to ask for. I wanted to make sure that we were not charged for the appetizer.
All in all my experience there was ok food wise. Customer service from the waitress was a two-star. I had no idea if she was being rude or if she was that overwhelmed but she wasn't attentive. The hostess was six stars without question. Either way it didn't ruin my evening out with my wife, whose drink I'm told was strong. But that's a...
Read moreI went to this restaurant this past Saturday August 21. My waitress ERICA was not pleasant at all. My brothers and I was having drinks before we ordered our food. My brother ordered 2 double shots with limes. After she brought the shots my brother asked her are these double shots? She said yes they are. He said okay may I have some limes. After about 15 minutes went by maybe, he said hey can I have some limes. She comes back puts them on the table. I noticed right then her facial expression had changed. He asked her were you sure they were double shots? She said would you like for me to go get my bartender with an attitude. He said yes. The bartender came over she said yes they were double shots and she was so nice. Whether they were or not at that moment it was ok because her attitude was so much more pleasant than Erica’s. After about 45 minutes maybe of Erica walking by our table as if we didn’t exist I finally stopped her and asked her may I please speak with her manager. Her manager approached and he was nice. As I’m explaining everything to him she’s standing beside him smirking making faces as if it’s funny. At that point I asked was the General Manager available. As I’m explaining to the GM my experience ERICA jumps in and ask me when was I rude and had an attitude, and she tells me I’m lying. If you ask me she was pretty hostile. Her GM was nice and she listened and also sent Erica away from the table. I know there is a shortage on people wanting to work but someone that like ERICA with her behavior was not acceptable at all. It’s not good for the establishment. Things could have most definitely went left. Thankful for the bartender and two managers who were nice and...
