El Tapatio Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Wilson

Where to begin with this atrocity???? Walked into this place for dinner with my best friend and her daughter. She had never had bad service, and said the food was always good. First of all walking inside, it was so uncomfortably hot that I almost broke into a sweat from the heat and humidity in there. Guess they don't know what an air conditioner is. It's not like it was cold today. I almost walked out right then. We were seated right away and chips arrived. Took like 5 minutes to even get waters for all 3 of us. They took another 5 minutes to get the cheese dip for my friend an her daughter. The servers didn't seem to know what they were doing at all.

Finally got to order, then waited 20 minutes plus for our food and they were not busy at all. I saw more of them standing around with their thumbs up their a*ses than doing any work. Got my food and was severely underwhelming. I ordered the Enchiladas Banderas, and had to be the smallest enchiladas that I've ever seen. Looked like street taco flour tortillas with barely any filling in them at all. It was bland as all get out. Not one bit of seasoning. The food was lukewarm at best. We had so many different people serving us that I couldn't keep track of who was doing what.

I asked for more chips, and it took like 10 minutes for them to bring a simple bowl of damn chips to our table. The server was no where to be found. Finally saw here standing around and just talking/walking around not doing thing. Just pitiful service. Then we asked for our check and proceeded to wait at least another 10 minutes, then someone came to the table and asked us what we ordered and to split the check again, like we had already asked another person.

We finally got fed up and walked up to the register to pay. My friend paid first, and asked for her change and the girl didn't give it to her. Then she moved on to me, and I paid. My friend asked again for her change, and she looked at her like she was stupid. She didn't' even know how to give change.

This has to be one of the worst experiences that I've ever had in a Mexican food establishment ever!! We will never go back, and I hope that others read this and stay away. I'm now at home with a very very upset stomach, already had to run to the restroom multiple times, and I feel like I could just throw up. I think I might even have a touch of food poisoning...

Disrespectful server, horrible customer service, and lack of caring manager.

Sent out my order 10 Minutes after everyone at my table had finished eating. I refused the food and told him to send it back, the server tried again to give me the food, and I told him I wouldn’t be accepting it, to send it back and not to put it on the bill. I spoke calmly at first but when the server protested, I refused more sternly. He then wanted to argue with me. Because only in Wilson can a business get mad at their customers for being unhappy with their service. The rest of the time was spent being awkwardly watched by the other staff and our table avoided as if we had the Black Plague.

When we left I called to speak to a manager. I was then informed that the server Juan had told them that the reason my food was so late was because I put in my order after the others. This was a lie and everyone at my table confirmed with the manager that the orders were placed at the same time. The managers response was “I’m going to have to go with what he told me.”

Not looking for anything free, just sick and tired of seeing this slowly becoming the food...

I recently got the Texas fajitas to go on a Saturday evening. They quoted me 15 minutes and it was ready in 12. The food is always delicious. Me and my husband usually get the El tapatio for two and have the entire second serving left over the next day, and because it is served to go in an aluminum tray, it is easily reheated in the oven. The pollo Sonora is also great. I order it with jalapenos added. EDIT: 7 MONTHS LATER AND THE FOOD IS AWFUL. THEY SKIMP ON EVERYTHING AND FOR THR LOVE OF GOD DO NOT ORDER ANYTHING TO GO BECAUSE THEY WILL FORGET PART OF YOUR ORDER, GIVE YOU ROOM TEMP CHIPS, SMASH YOUR FOOD, AND WHEN YOU GET HOME AND REALIZE THIS- AND THEN CALL TO COMPLAIN THAT FOOD ITEMS ARE MISSING THEY LITERALLY SAY "WHAT DO YOU WANT ME TO DO ABOUT IT?, IT WAS ONLY X AMOUNT OF DOLLARS" so im just supposed to let them keep money I paid to them for items I didn't receive? Look at my images of how they smashed my order, put no cheese on the salad and gave me less than half of the normal amount of rice and beans. I'm underwhelmed to say the LEAST.
