I visited The Yummy crab today April 11, 2024 with my family for the first time. Upon entrance there was only 1 family in the restaurant eating, turns out it was the owner, chef and whomever was visiting them at the moment. My family of 3 ordered 2 crab yummy specials with some fixings and a shrimp and fry basket. The hottest item received was the fried foods. My wife’s crab was frozen in many places and there was hair on her corn. My food was barely warm, sauceless and doused in butter with big chunky cuts of garlic and whatever YUMMY sauce they pretended to add and missing the corn on the cob I ordered. At this point it’s almost a blessing I didn’t get corn, Jesus spared me with my order. We then ordered another 1/2 lb crab legs and it was received hotter. Why was only 1 of the 3 bags of crab received at an edible temperature? After we mentioned the hair found on the corn that was large enough for me to remove with the scissor/crackers provided, placed in napkins and taken back to the family. The owner advised she would discount the order for the hair in the meal. She removed the hairy corn. When I went to pay I was met with a generous amount of attitude from the owner sitting leisurely behind the counter holding her casual conversation and phone in her hand. The atmosphere was obnoxiously loud to have only my family of three and 1 other family of 5 celebrating a quiet birthday party in the establishment. To be served cold food and basically be told we should have complained at the beginning instead of being served hot food is unacceptable, and disgustingly inappropriate. I will not be visiting this establishment ever again as the 130 dollars I paid was clearly overpriced and under cooked. They should be happy we did not photograph the hairy corn because we had not planned on leaving reviews. Please see my discounted receipts and share the laugh and save yourself the time and disappointment from being unsatisfied with reheated frozen food and loud jazz music blasted through a microphone and loud speakers accompanied by bad attitude from management and mediocre service from their hostess/waitress. We did not ask for a full refund for our meals, we asked for the hairy corn meal to be removed. Had she not saved the corn for later that would’ve been the first thing she ate and we would’ve still asked for that meal to be removed only. The short straight black hair was not off of my blonde wife or either one of mine or my sons heads. We’re African American. At the register I asked you if you’re bold or served hot or cold and the response was usually hot from your waitress. Then the owner chimed in if your food was cold you should’ve complained in the beginning. I didn’t complain I asked a question. There was No argument as you were sitting in the chair saying yes I’m reading your wife’s review right now. After you met me with attitude I said thank you very much I guess I’ll have to leave a bad review too. There was no threat your actions and service garnered you a truthful response to the interaction. My review is the truth that’s why you’re trying to make up the fact that I asked for a full refund. I wish you the best in your future, hopefully you start serving people hot food as that’s what we’re paying for and stop being so rude and nasty to your patrons like we’re the ones who owe you something. You serve poor food and your...
Read moreMy husband loves king crab! Since Joe's Crab Shack closed, we hadn't tried another crab place since we moved to Las Vegas 7 or 8 years ago. The other day was my husband's birthday. I figured crab legs would be a good surprise for his birthday dinner. His stomach doesn't do well with spicy food. There's a crab place that recently opened that my neighbor & I had been talking about. It's called Yummy Crab. Their online menu has a no spice option, which is what sold me on trying this place. It also implies that 1lb of king crab is enough for 1 person for a meal.(sounded reasonable since the king crab legs I've seen at grocery stores & crab legs we used to get from Joe's were big long crab legs & about 2 or 3 big long crab legs were sold as a lb.) It said the crab legs comes with corn & a potatoe, if you order & let them boil more than 1lb in the same bag. I ordered 2lbs of crab with "no spices". The bag was in a outer opaque bag that was tied shut when I picked it up. When I got home I set the table & opened the opaque bag. Inside there was a clear bag filled with a spicy liquidy oily substance with a few very small king crab legs submerged in it. I was still optimistic & opened the inner bag. My husband fished a couple of miniature king crab legs out of the spicy goo & so did I. It was hard to even hold on to the crab legs. They were so slippery & slimy from the spicy, oily, liquidy goo that filled the bag. The liquidy goo was not hot cajun spicy, but it was still spicy. (Would have probably tasted good if I hadn't been expecting it to have no spice like I had ordered. ) After eating the first crab leg, my husband said it would be better for his stomach if we rinse the spicy slime off the rest of the legs. While rinsing the crab legs we found 1 really small bite sized potatoe & 1 corn cob about 1½inch long. (If things weren't bad enough, the liquidy goo clogged the sink) Since it was supposed to be my husband's birthday dinner, I let him eat the other 2 or 3 small crab legs & fixed something else for me for my dinner (there clearly wasn't enough crab legs for 2 people & it didn't come with anything else.) I ended up getting a shake, less than a hour later, for my husband since he was still hungry. For $140 I expected to have dinner for 2, prepared the way I ordered it! I would not recommend this place to anyone! After hearing of our experience at Yummy Crab, my neighbor says there's no way she wants to try going there. She says that she's going to call other friends that she had told about it opening & let them know that it's not worth going there. I doubt Yummy Crab will stay open long. It will be hard to get repeat business if everyone that tries it has as bad of experience as we had. The people there were friendly as I picked up the order. That's about the only positive thing I can say about our 1 experience getting food from there. I was extremely...
Read moreI picked this place because it had good reviews and it was close by our house. I got there with my guy and the atmosphere wasn’t bad, It was clean & chill. It was around 8 o’clock and they didn’t close until 11 but there was no other customers inside of the restaurant at all. I had to use the restroom so I went and it had no soap, and when I went out of the restroom after using it to ask my server or someone that worked there for soap, they didn’t even speak English (2 employees). I had to motion washing hands to get pointed to the soap dispenser and sink for employees only. I didn’t care that the experience went that way because I’m not even a picky person on things like that, I’m from a family that speaks Arabic so I’m used to people that don’t speak English. My problem was that when we ordered our waitress seemed ready to get away from the table. I was ready to order my entrée, but she wanted to leave it at just the appetizer and come back. I let that go but then we were served our fish and chips super hot and when the boil came out and we were devastated. We ordered the $99 special Alcana and we added extra shrimp, multiple different side items, including potatoes, and eggs, as well as rice. When the food came out, which was a very quick mind you, it was cold, unseasoned & on a FLAT PLATE. There is no reason to bring someone food, that costs that much, cold especially when we are the only people other than a couple that came in after us inside the entire restaurant. We go to restaurants and spend $100 plus almost nightly and we’re looking for a new spot near us. We could have became regulars so you guys lost a potential consistent income based on this visit. She argued with me when I let her know my food was cold as well. She was saying after I also mentioned the SAUCE IS IN THE SIDE, the food comes PLAIN sprinkled In parsley for you to dip, no seasoning, that the menu says it comes that way... This was a Sunday night on September 10th. if your seafood boil comes with no seasoning and on a plate then you damn sure better make sure it’s hot. I don’t mind dipping my seafood boil, because I’m gonna dip it regardless, but if I have to This evening because it has a nine then at least you guys could do is make sure that it’s steaming hot when I’m the only person in the restaurant! You should be ashamed of yourselves, as far as your night shift goes, and they need to be coached on how important it is to serve people the same way they’re served on a morning, at night. I even let her crush my sausage and her, and after she had just brought it to the table and she could tell it was a hot at all. How could you argue with me after that? DONT go here at night at least, when the sun is up, you guys may...
