Comella’s took over the place that use to be Pizza Express. I use to grab pizza once in a while from Pizza Express, so I figure I try the replacement that is Comella’s. For background, Pizza Express had okish pizza that was nothing to write home. I mainly got pizza at Pizza Express for the convenience. Anyways, I ended getting a whole cheese pizza at Comella’s and some garlic bread. Wow is the pizza bad at Comella’s. The main thing that stood out for me was the tomato sauce that tasted like plain canned tomato paste with a hint of tinny metallic favor. Luckily there was very little tomato sauce under the cheese, which I can’t decide whether it is a curse or blessing in disguise. The garlic bread was also pretty sad. Anyways, the only saving grace is the price, which keeps this place from 1 star. A whole large pizza and a few slices of garlic bread for under $10.
Oh, I had pizza from here twice only because a co-worker ordered takeout once. Again the pizza was bad. I just cannot forgive a pizza that screws up something as fundamental as the tomato sauce.
If you want the cheapest food that is edible with portions that can feed a whole family, then Comella’s is one of your best bets. Otherwise, if you feel like treating yourself to an enjoyable meal, you probably want to look else where (and increase the budget). I’m a bit too scared to try out the rest of the menu knowing they all probably use the same nasty...

Read moreI ordered a deep dish pizza week done. Picked it up and took it home, open the box and it was not anywhere near well done. I took it back and the young woman at the counter was very lovely and had them put it back in the oven but at that point it became burned in spots. I think it's hard to take a pizza that has cooled off that much and try to finish cooking it in the oven with it turning out not very good. We've ordered others in the past that were cooked well done and...
