This was my first visit to a Five Guys restaurant but it certainly will not be my last. I was happy to find that you could order your Burgers bunless because my diabetic wife was with me. I thought the burgers were a little pricey but then you could get whatever toppings you wanted included for no extra charge and they have a pretty good assortment of toppings.
My wife really enjoyed her small bunless bacon burger with grilled onions, grilled mushrooms and grilled green peppers, and mustard. Small is a relative term since that meant just one beef patty instead of two.
I had a small bacon cheeseburger on a bun with the same grilled toppings she had along with lettuce, tomato, mayonnaise, ketchup and pickles.
The toppings list doesn't have the green peppers listed as a grilled item, but they will grill them for you on request.
We also had the litle order of cajun fries, the cup seemed a little small for the price, but they dumped enough loose fries in the bag that I had enough to fill the cup 3 times.
We sat inside but noticed they had outdoor seating and there were people there with their dogs, this is a plus for us since we have several small dogs and sometimes like to take one or more with us when we go out to eat.
Fortunately I noticed that they had boxes of peanuts with little trays and a scoop in the dining area so you could get yourself peanuts to go with your meal, my wife and I both like in the shell salted peanuts.
The food came fairly quickly considering they were cooking the burgers to order, the order was complete and accurate.
I'm hoping that when Five Guys comes to Martinsburg in the near future they will be just as good as...
Read moreThis location is really great, to be honest, we come here weekly. The staff are friendly, the food is great, and it's very clean. In fact, it is too clean, if you can believe it. We are seriously considering mainly visiting the other Winchester location because of how often the floor is cleaned - it sounds picky, but hear me out.
Without fail, whenever we eat there, someone is ALWAYS cleaning. This includes the sweeping sounds and constantly scooting chairs against the floor, so much so we cannot carry a conversation because we cannot hear each other. It's extremely aggravating. It's often right next to our table, too. Over, and over, and over again. The cleaning doesn't stop.
You might be thinking, "okay so, it's clean, but there are only 8 or so tables, it has to stop at some point" or maybe "do you always show up at the same time, maybe that's when they clean"? Nope! We show up at different times and without fail, they're always scooting and sweeping. Even tables they JUST SWEPT and no one sat at, they come back and clean.
To be fair, I don't think this is on the staff, if the boss is a "if you have time to stand you have the time to sweep" types, then they have created this atmosphere. Either way, we just can't stand the sound anymore it's horrendous...
Read moreHere's everything you need to know concerning take-out: 1.) Grease grease & MUCH more grease! 2.) Whatever your order is wrapped warm in foil and us a soggy, greasy mess by the time you try to eat it. Even if you've just ordered and you're only going as far as their parking lot to eat in the comfort of your car...soggy, greasy, nasty mess. 3.) Don't order your fries "extra crispy" because to them, "extra crispy" means greas-soaked, limp fries. 4.) They pack your order hot dog/burger first then place a hot, greasy, over flowing cup of fries over the rest of your food in the bag. You literally have to reach past a gazillion hot, grease-soaked, limp fries to get to your hot dogs or burger...it's a nasty NASTY mess. When we went back in to complain about the nasty mess, the girl behind the counter replied, "That's just the way we do it." 5.) If you like rubbery, limp hot dogs that have been cut-up before being placed in the wet bun then maybe this is the place for you. Adding condiments makes it all the soggier. Bon appetite!
We will never EVER eat here again...not at any of the Five...
