I went to Olive Garden after getting off work today. I was greeted by the host and told there is a 30 minute wait. She then proceeded to tell me I could sit at the bar with no wait time. So guess what... I go to the bar. It was me and two Caucasian couples sitting at the bar. The bartender (Kerri Coffey a.ka Karen) was working at the bar. Upon me sitting at the bar she had finish making two drinks and put the lemon slices on the top. She went to right to ask the older Caucasian Couple if the needed anything. She walked passed me... Seen me but avoided eye contact. After leaving the older white couple, she proceeded to the refrigerator to put the lemons back. AGAIN avoiding eye contact with me. At this time three minutes had passed. From the refrigerator she went to the younger Caucasian couple to help them and talk for a few. I proceeded to grab the digital order kiosk to place my own order. When I tried to place appetizer order the kiosk wouldn't not allow me. Screen came up and ask me to unable to place order. Please ask server....
I sat for almost ten minutes watching Kerri avoid me but help the Caucasian Couples that were sitting at the bar. I then proceeded to the host to ask if I can speak to the manager. Guess who's the shift manager is... Karen I mean Kerri Coffey. I then proceeded to place a to go order.
I notice a lady with a white shirt on with a ear piece in her ear. I proceeded to talk to her about my experience at the bar. Beverly told me she told Kerri she needs to assist me.... When Beverly came back to the bar to assist Kerri in my almost 10 minute wait. She notice I was gone. Beverly was was managing the dinning room floor.
I said all this to say. It's not what you do it's how you do it. I understand Kerri Coffey was busy.. Or maybe even mad she had to work the bar.. WHO KNOW... But as a travel nurse working 60+ hours in the middle of a pandemic... I made a oath to always treat my patient/ clients how I want to be treated. I'm tired, back and knee hurt. I came to this city to work. I'm almost 2 hours from home. Kerri decided on this day who she was helping as I sat there. The only African American at that bar.
Kerri hunnii Listen to me.. As a proud African American living in a country with individuals who has hate in their heart due to my skin completion... I'm going to pray for you.... Because only God can help the hatred you have in your heart.
But this post and me speaking out is for the next brown skin individual who may encounter you. Olive Garden are these the type of...
Read moreUpon arrival we asked for a table away from children. We had both had long days and wanted to talk and enjoy a nice meal. Sadly, we were put in a back room with 3 families with 2 -5 children under the age of 7 ish. Of who screamed and ran around the tables for 90% of the time we were there. This is not what I gave the low ratings for. It was the manager ‘Anna’ who was the most misbehaved, rude and unprofessional person at this Olive Garden in Winchester Va. I brought to her attention of our request to be seated away from children and how our seating was the exact opposite of this. As we were walked to our table and as we exited the back room after completing less than 1/2 of our meal due to the screaming, loud and rambunctious out of seats activities of the children- there were 4 other areas without families with small children, all were mainly seniors. Anna bluntly told me that “this is a famiy restaurant and there is nothing she could do about my c/o. I informed her that upon our initial request when we were being seated, they could have easily accommodated us with out a problem since there very few patrons and many open and unfilled dining areas. She said “that is not how we seat people. Have a great night” and proceeded to work on her to go orders. I told her that is unfortunate b/c we would not be back to eat there again. She then propped her hand on her hip and says “well bye bye then”. Then, the hostess and 3 other employees that heard their manager followed in suit with a sarcastic “bye bye” Don’t know what has happened to customer service or just plain being a nice person even if you are not a manager. But to be bullied by a bunch of employees at an Olive Garden is a real reflection of how sad the younger generations have become as a whole. I know there a Lee some good ones out there, but none were working with at the front entrance area this eve. Mainly Anna. She should not be in...
Read moreFOOD POISONING TO A 1YR OLD! Went to Olive Garden in Winchester, VA tonight and my two sons ordered chicken tenders off the kids menu and we received their meals fairly normal timing. Both children ate their food and once we realized that the chicken tenders were completely RAW they had already took multiple bites and held it while eating. We brought it up to the manager and she said she could take the chicken off of the bill. Then after manager said food poisoning will hit within an hour and that there was nothing they were able to do about it. It was not about taking money off of our bill, we have zero problem paying any outings BUT there is something Winchester, VA Olive Garden can do and that is have their staff up to date on food handling/safety & assure the conversation with cook will be held. I understand it’s around the holidays, I understand people want to eat out and restaurants get busy, I understand mistakes happen. The server asked if we wanted another meal replaced as we turned it down. She then proceeded to say “well they ate it already, there’s really nothing we can do.” I truly am not upset about the mistake I’m 100% upset how the situation was handle. As if money was the negotiation here when really food safety needs to be their priority. I hope they cleaned the table we were at and I hope they informed the cook staff to be more aware. I wouldn’t even give them a one star review but I have to in order to write this review. The manager at WINCHESTER , VA OLIVE GARDEN was the absolute worst along with the waitress that worked our table tonight. Watch out and check your food as food handling is NOT their first concern. Would love the opportunity to have corporate reach out as the health department will...
