Delicious take out dinner! After a very long day of travel, I was extremely hungry and tired. I was a guest at the Doubletree Hotel and wanted to grab take out and dine in the privacy of my guestroom. Never having visited this hotel nor it's restaurant I wasn't sure what my experience would be. However, not only was the Shade Bar and Grill convenient, my dinner was delicious, served fresh and hot! I ordered the Cheeseburger and fries, perfect meal after a long day. My burger was huge, cooked perfectly. It was served with a side of large steak fries. My server was very polite and efficient, making sure I had all the necessary condiments. From my quick glance, the menu had many items to consider and was reasonably priced. Although I didn't dine in the restaurant, my brief observation was a very pleasant, laid-back atmosphere. In fact, if I return to the hotel in the future, I will most certainly consider dining in the restaurant. Fantastic dinner...
Read moreEh I want to love this place but was really turned off tonight. It says the bar closes at 11 online. We went down from our room at 10:30 and the bartender Matt was clearly annoyed. There were five of us and each ordered an bottle of beer and a shot, nothing fancy or hard to make. EVERY bottle was slammed on the bar when it was given to us. I get he's closing soon but #1 as someone who's in the service industry, you don't let people know that you're annoyed when they walk in and it was very evident that he was not happy to see us there and was even talking about us to his buddy that was sitting on the other side of the bar. #2 he could have simply said hey guys I'm closing (even though it was a lot earlier than it said online). Read moreOnline menu is incredibly outdated and includes old pricing and items that are no longer available. Rather than updating the online menu, the restaurant staff has been told to simply dismiss these discrepancies by blaming COVID. We placed an order for pick up and we’re charged unnecessarily for a side salad. When we brought this to the restaurant’s attention, again, the blame was placed on us and on COVID. Even after correcting the overcharge, the staff and manager still decided to not issue an apology but reiterate that issues with their poor customer service are a direct implication of COVID.
The burger is clearly a frozen patty and none of the other food is worth the prices. Better off driving (or walking) to the Wendy’s...
