Umé | Japanese Bistro — Restaurant in Windsor

I ordered food to go. Ordered lion king and spider roll and few other things. I am driving to Eureka for work. Its after 8 PM. I pulled out the lino king and its blackened. And it didnt seem to be cut. I am hungry so i pulled iut next spider roll and i bite on something hard. I pukled over at looked at i. Soft shell crab is over fried. Great! I called to let them know and not in a good mood due to issue when i picked up the food and now with them letting burnt fiid go out the kitchen! Since i was upset what ut sound like she knew who i was and had an attitude. Next day driving 5 hrs heading home, i stopped by and sho w ed the burnt food. Instead of a apology, all i hear us i got your money you we were busy, we only had 2 servet blah blah blah. And seeing the sause is burnt, now she tells me the SAUSE used is unagi sause? So now dont i get ANY kind of apology. Insult my intellegence tellibg me unagi sause is used. The menu ckearly says spicy srafood sause? Lion King (baked)* Crab salad and avocado topped with sake ,spicy seafood sauce, and tobiko Where do you see unagi sause? This isnt ny first, second, third, fourth or fifth time eating there and i enjoyed the food instead of blaming everything for serving burnt fiod, i mean your establishment actually let burnt food leave your kitchen to be consumed? A fairly unassuming place by outside appearance, some of the reviews say the outside looks pretty bad but not to me, maybe they got a remodel... or I'm just easy to please

The inside was cozy nothing too fancy but you could tell some effort was put in to give it a certain relaxed vibe.

The food was very good, the sushi I had was tasty and my father ordered some fish that was... well let's just say I've never had fish that delicious, definitely worth 4 stars.

what gives it that extra star is the owner of the restaurant kelly, a beautiful Asian gal who was very sweet and easy to talk too, I swear my cheekbones started to hurt from smiling so much while talking to her, we talked about her backstory, where she worked, about her family, about the restaurant, she asked about us and where we came from... she was just adorable and a hard worker.

Great sushi, 2 different sake flights, good beer selection, lots of sake choices. This is our go-to sushi restaurant. It is close to home, and the staff are always friendly and helpful. Some of the specialty sushi rolls are spectacular, but they are all very good. My wife likes the Giants Roll and I like the Geisha, the Spicy Tuna & Spicy Salmon. And they serve one of the absolute best Rainbow Rolls you will find anywhere! (Always the first dish I try at a sushi place - I only return to the best, and we have been going to Ume for over 20 years!
