I took a family member to lunch here and we had a wonderful waitress, and really good food, but the two managers were a little overzealous when we were asking our waitress for something else to drink because our tea tasted like dirt, our young wonderful waitress was explaining to us why it did ,and doing a wonderful job explaining why it did( problems with the nasty city water) and one of the managers interrupted her to give the same explanation the sweet young waitress was explaining already. I understand it's not their fault. We ordered 2 sandwiches and 2 drinks at the cost of 42.76. When I paid I realized they didn't give me my loose change. So I informed them they didn't, so the other managers immediately stepped over to our table and told us they round off the bill and keep everyone's loose change. I Told them that's Theft and I keep my loose change for emergencies in a jug at home. The manager starts telling how they have exceptional waitstaff ( I understood that's why they steal your money) to give to waitresses. Well I ALWAYS tip and we did have very good service from our waitress. But until they change this policy of stealing people's money ,we will not be back. Some folks might not care if they keep ones change, thats fine with me but ido, especially in this economy and the prices restaurants charge. I'll be letting the local people know they are doing this. If they don't care then go and eat.its...
Read moreI’ve eaten here a few times at lunch and have had a good experience every time. The menu is not extensive but every item seems to be good! (I’ve heard great things about the breakfast but haven’t tried it yet.)
The skillet fries are a popular choice and good entree size (8” cask iron skillet) or work as a shareable appetizer.
The burger is usually more than I can usually finish. It’s a simple burger with a quality meat that is elevated by a sweet sourdough bun and a good choice of premium add-ons.
The salads are large and they have classic choices like Caesar (with or without chicken) as well as some creative options. The house dressing is a orange horseradish vinaigrette that I haven’t personally tried but my friend said was very good.
Even the simple chicken strips with fries were outstanding. The chicken has a Pablo-style coating and the fries have an intense flake-type salt. I had them with honey mustard, which was creamy and sweet with only a light mustard kick.
And of course, the service is great and the owner is on the floor making sure everything...
Read moreMy first time review... I mentioned it was my first time when visiting... just to see if I was suggested anything or what would be the response in general... literally no response after saying it was my first time.
Overall impressions: nice staff, clean restaurant, nice location, tasty food, prompt service, little wait, tasty coffee, and a limited menu... why not 5 stars? It was pretty cold when I visited inside.. maybe 69F inside sitting? I'm not a fan of eating and feel the need for a jacket. Often, places in this area are colder inside if the staff are hot natured or are busy working.
Lastly, the wait staff read off the "special of the day" for the other 2 tables once seated, but I wasn't given that experience... I was just asked "what would you like to drink today?" and "what do you want to order today?" .. I have no idea what the...
