Pyke’s Crossroads Restaurant is a gem we can’t get enough of! This husband-and-wife-owned spot in Winnsboro, Texas, is our go-to for an unforgettable dinner whenever we’re in town. The lively atmosphere, often enhanced by live music, makes it the perfect place to bring friends for a fun night out. The food? Think elevated, home-cooked perfection that never misses the mark. From their phenomenal brunch to their standout dinner menu, every dish feels like a labor of love. The four varieties of deviled eggs are a must-try—hands-down the best we’ve ever had! The Hungarian mushroom soup is another non-negotiable, gracing our table every visit with its rich, soul-warming flavor. As for entrées, we’ve yet to find a dud. Whether it’s the comforting meatloaf, sophisticated veal piccata, creative pizzas, hearty chili, or exotic elk tenderloin, everything is executed flawlessly. Craving something indulgent? The massive tomahawk ribeye delivers. Even their burger and fries are a cut above. The experience is elevated further by the full bar, masterfully run by Pyke himself, while his wife, Stephanie, seamlessly oversees the rest of the operation. Pyke’s cocktail game is strong, with creative concoctions and classic drinks done right. The bar also boasts unique brews and an impressive wine list. The space itself is a showstopper—a sprawling bar aglow with LED lights, anchored by a massive wood-burning oven that adds warmth and charm. Pyke’s Crossroads Restaurant is nothing short of extraordinary. It’s a top-tier dining destination that stands unrivaled within a hundred-mile radius. Don’t miss...
Read more⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We had a wonderful dining experience at Pyke’s Crossroads! The food was exceptional—high quality and bursting with flavor. The salad with fruit and nuts had an incredible dressing and it was SO fresh. That pizza you see in my photo was one of the best I have had (ricotta pesto sauce on it!) it was gluten free crust that was wood-fired too. The steak was cooked medium-well like we asked even though it was very thick. Still juicy and delicious. My wife is very allergic to gluten and this place probably has the most options in town for gluten free (clearly shown on the menu too.) Even multiple gluten free desserts!
The service was impressive: prompt, entertaining, and very respectful. The staff genuinely added to the dining experience, making us feel welcome and well taken care of.
The atmosphere was clean, charming, and thoughtfully decorated, though we thought a slightly dimmer lighting would have made it even better for our romantic date night. But maybe that’s just me! 😉 Some of our friends came in towards the end of our meal and I thought the place was perfect for gathering a group for a festivity.
Highly recommend for anyone looking for phenomenal food and a lovely ambiance. Some people will say it is too expensive; you get what you pay for. Go pay $16 at DQ for a meal of a certain quality. When you want a celebratory meal, the quality at Pyke’s does...
Read moreIt was 10 am, Thursday. We were the only people in the restaurant. Ordered at the cash register. I ordered the fresh squeezed OJ, my wife had a coffee iced mocha. We ordered a breakfast burrito with potatoes, egg, bacon. The OJ was not done well. Filtered somehow. Her mocha was ok. The burritos were so dry, and, frankly just bad. Actually, awful. A friend of the cook and cashier came in and we were not spoken to again. We were served but had to ask for silverware once the visit with the friend had a lapse. The friend didn't pay for her iced drink. It was a big disappointment and some of the worst food we've had in sometime. The food was of poor quality and tasted store bought. Costco. I think. The salsa was so spicy hot I couldn't use it. It was thawing out, too. The fruit cup was filled with old fruit. Costco, too, I think. The cafe across the street was very busy. I thought a bistro had French food, not Mexican, and I hoped for pastries. I saw Costco muffins, uncovered, but was not enticed. The atmosphere was nice. Yet, this was the worst dining experience we've had...
