Bamboo Lounge — Restaurant in Winston-Salem

My daughter was in town. One of her best friends from high school bartends at the Bamboo Lounge, so we went to check out her cool, little workplace. My husband is tee-total, and I rarely drink, so it is a very, very rare occasion that I find myself in a bar. The Bamboo was perfect. We were there in the afternoon, so it was quiet. It is a cozy, comfortable space. The bar specializes in rather tropical drinks, with lots of coconut and fruit juice options. Between us, we tried several different drinks, all of which were refreshing and almost too smooth, if you know what I mean. 😉

Alex, the bartender, learned my go-to cocktail, a kamikaze, so I could introduce both "kids" to it. It was a relatively hot day, so sadly, I didn't try their hot buttered rum, a drink I absolutely love but have only made at home. I have a strong suspicion that hers would have been much better.

I have only dinked them one one star because of the parking situation. Beside the bar is a small lot with maybe 6 spaces. You have to pay online, which I did. Fortunately, my daughter suggested taking a screenshot of the receipt. About a week or so later, I received a letter from the parking company (under a different company name 😡) that I had parked illegally. They even had photos. The letter said the fee was $45 if I paid right away or else I owed $85. If that doesn't read like a scam... After doing a little research, I found that it is a real company, but they are indeed scammy. I have submitted my screenshot and will not be paying their ridiculous fee.
