I guess it's time for the owner to take another negative reviews to task. Hello OWNER notice 5 people liked my review??? I guess your customers are wrong and you are right? But I know what I received was sub par at best. A couple of nights ago. Went through the drive-thru. I ordered a cheeseburger with mayonnaise and tomato and a 1/2 pound of chopped BBQ. The burger $7 a classic frozen disk that had little to no flavor. The tomato was "with green core" but the best part of the sandwich. The real let down was the mediocre BBQ. No way was the chopped BBQ Lexington style. The BBQ was a hodge podge collection of what appeared to be scrap. Arbitrary chopped, pulled, coarse chopped, burnt ends...bits a pieces but not a consistent chopped pork. What stood out to be was the BBQ I received looked more like a Pork BBQ soup. These random pieces of pork were floating in red soup. The BBQ and I use that word loosely was sopping wet! More liquid that meat. And this sauce was more like a cheap kraft sauce than a vinegar based sauce. Flavor? 1 to 10 was a 3 at best. The texture? Some pieces hard Some burned. All chewy. None tender. I am just a customer not a troll not being dishonest. I too ate here 20 plus years ago. This was a poor offering compared to the good old days of Mr BBQ. guess it's time for the owner to take another negative reviews to task. But I know what I received was sub par at best. I happened by a couple of nights ago. I was coming back from a visit at Novant Hospital in Winston-Salem. Went through the drive-thru. Be sure you get the last word as I see you make sure you do. Easy for you to make accusations. I know what I experienced. I know it was a fair assessment. I know I am entitled to my opinion. One thing I will allow you to dictate is that I will lower my standards to your level to respond to you. Yes I make some negative reviews. Why? Take a look at the number of likes from both positive and negative reviews. Could they just be honest reviews? Many people by a thumbs š up agree with me either positive or negative. However that would be difficult for you to discern if you are looking to validate your response of my review. I waited in your parking lot for the order. That frozen disk took a whole lot of time to cook. I sat watching transients for a really long time no complaints i knew you would possibly yammer about fresh food, made to order takes time. The service was slow. Even if the hamburger was fresh paddied. It surely wasn't. "Atmosphere" per review, The atmosphere was inside a locked car however sitting for a really long time observing transients wasn't the best. But honestly it took way to long to receive my food.I did not eat the food in the parking lot. I was on the way home. I wasn't turning around off I40 to run back to your business. All I wanted from you was decent food. I didnt get that. Making it right? Your BBQ isn't made to order. Would another container of your BBQ ofāø been close to if not a replica of what I received? I expected a better product...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWent there today for lunch. I've been going to mr barbq for over 50 years. Never one p r oblem and the food as good as always. I was meeting friends there. Ordered my food from a nice girl at the register. Since I don't go there frequently I told them what I wanted and she rung it up. I ordered what would be a plate with a bun for 50 cents. I paid with cash and was given a receipt. I was told my food would be brought to me. I put the receipt in my pocket. My friends had just driven up and her mother is elderly so I needed to help her get her mother in with her walker. Another Hispanic girl comes to the table with a big tray of food saying which food is yours. I see the bun and say the order with a bun She raises her voice saying a plate or a tray. I m looking at 2 or 3 orders I don't know which one. Then she yells what's your #. I tell her no one said I had a #. I said let me get my ticket out. She cont. To berate me. I told her she needed to stop. Then the part that infuriated me is when she goes back behind the counter and starts talking about loud enough for me to hear saying I didn't know what I ordered. To me yelling Everyone on the left side of the restaurant heard her. I go up to the front counter and tell her she needs to stop. I ask for the manager. She hears me and says I don't care what you say and walked past me. While the food remains good the customer service is caving She should be working with a mop and broom and not allowed to work with customers. It's funny she speaks English to berate you but when she talks about you she does it in Spanish Low class and uneducated. Just beware if you go there to eat. Know your trays from your plates and know you are supposed to know your #. They tell you none of this when you pay just that they will bring your food out. Seems like the front counter Hispanic with a rude mouth needs additional training. Will not be back...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWell yes me and a associate stop to get some food to go, like BBQ. And some fish first of all their BBQ is good but lexington BBQ is better we notice, and the fish was okay the side order was according to the people who took my order indicated that they has collard greens, me being a green love realized when I got home that they were not collards green but in fact can turnip greens, totally different, but I prayed over my food for protection and simply ate my food. People may criticize me or hate me for this Statement but this is only my opinion, and this isn't racism, but I've notice a big difference in the quality and taste and cooking favorable foods that is primarily considered southern, or what considered soul food or just good old fashioned southern foods that are cooked by those whom aren't from this geographic areas called the sunbelt, it takes special individuals to master good old southern foods so I struggle with the details of those that who although are cooks but lack that skill that was past down from those who experience slavery in the America's for they are considered to me and others the best cooks of the traditional southern foods, so I said all of that to say its not the actual food but the people who prepare the foods that for me determines how delicious the food is, preparing foods requires praying over food and sticking to what have made southern cooking for me the best in the world so Mr. BBQ was okay if you like or love unseasonably foods, that just my observations please don't be offended just strive to meet that great southern standard of preparing foods down here in what's call the sunbelt or North Kat kalacky....
