came here after lots of suggestions when i asked about soul food in the area. ordered a fried fish plate with collard greens and candied yams. gentleman at the counter asked what to drink, and i asked for kool-aid, but it was never given to me. i didn't ask, figuring they'd probably include it with the order, but they never did. paid $20 for the plate, $1.25 for the kool-aid, tipped $4.

after i got my plate, i cracked it open in the car, and... mac n' cheese, not the collards i asked for. the gentleman did flash the plate to me when i came to get my order, but there was another order talking to him at the same time, so i felt a little rushed and didn't pay much attention. that's partly my mistake, i should've brought attention to it there and paid more attention myself. they were kinda busy, things happen.

the mac n' cheese was... alright. it was edible, but even while hot, it was just sitting in a bunch of grease. the yams were alright seasoning-wise, but a tad overcooked so they were more of just a mush than actual pieces of sweet potato. i'd have probably cooked them on higher heat for a shorter time period. the fish was so-so; i got 3 fillets of an unnamed fish that smelled really good, but it wasn't very crisp and the seasoning missed the mark for me. the flavor just wasn't very bold and resembled just plain fish fry you can get in a bag at the grocery. it needed sauce or something added.

Seen them on tik tok and needed sides. On the walk up, they were having a screaming match about macaroni and cheese one of the young ladies in the front and one of the cooks in the back. The little girl in the front that took my orde attitude was disgusting. Everybody was on the phone when I got there, I told the little girl what I wanted to order she was on her phone and I forgot so fast. She had to ask me three times. This is why black on businesses flop and they don’t last because they hire a family members who will not invested in their dream & business, like the people who put the blood sweat and tears in the business in the first place! When they didn’t have a line i should’ve known then it could have been the food or it could have been the customer service! I definitely will not be coming back to this establishment. They turned me off completely if I could’ve walked off and left that child my food I would have. They won’t...

Came to try this place about a month ago after being recommended to come here by several people, the hours were not correct according to google so I decided to give it another try recently. They opened at 12pm and unbeknownst to me they were only available for brunch in which I came for lunch. The fish was under seasoned and not fresh, the potato salad tasted like onions, and the cabbage was not to my liking taste wise. The chicken wings were okay and the Mac n cheese was decent.
