Second & Green Tavern — Restaurant in Winston-Salem

This place is your ultimate neighborhood bar. I live in Atlanta and frequent Winston-Salem a few times a year. I found this local gem 6 weeks ago while wanting to watch some college football on a Saturday afternoon. Erin was the bartender on duty and she did a phenomenal job that day. Wish I had posted about my visit then. I was back in town this weekend and wanting to root on my Atlanta Falcons and have a couple of drinks. I got there around 7:00 pm and ordered a cold beer. The bartender on duty was Jamie and she was just awesome. Very attentive and handled the crowd well. I was watching the game and felt a tap on my shoulder. It was Erin. She came on duty at 8:30 but I did not notice since my back was to the bar watching the game on one of their many big screen TV's. She remembered who I was after only being in there once and that was 6 weeks prior. That shows a true testament to how great of a bartender she is. The service all night was phenomenal. It's a fantastic little bar. The owner, John, is a great guy and has a great family! It is centrally located to the Winston-Salem ballpark and everything entertainment related in downtown Winston. Anything that downtown offers you can get to on foot, By automobile, bike, electric scooter, shuttle bus, Uber, Lyft, or taxi. It's in a great neighborhood. Has great employees and great service!! Very clean! They have a good set up for outdoor events when they want to have them. The clientele are very personable. It wasn't Christmas but I'm certain I saw Santa Claus there one year. He was in street clothes and and having a drink. We talked, but I didn't want to be a fanboy, especially during his off season. After following couple bikers over, that said it was cool,(& 1 mentioned gettin kicked out along w/another 1 I'd met there! & Now I Know why!!)met 2 bouncers, big John, ex boxer & "On" duty.., will call Him _ Schmuck! Had great rapport w/em..gave "Schmuck" some pizza towards end of night, & bartender that I'D got w/2 girls (that "He-Schmuck" informed me that All 3-girls were Taken...Then, formly Asked Me to Leave..! Needless to say, my $50 to $75 green Will be the LAST "Green & 2nd" will see of Mine!! & Joe Schmuck.., Maybe different place & time..can show You "Like" courtesy!!!
