Instead of making you read everything, here's a summary: slowest service on Earth, portion sizes small enough that I wanted to go somewhere and eat after we left, slowest service on Earth, chef is seriously on his game, we way overpaid for less food that I feel is reasonable with subpar service. Will not return based on the entire experience..
We went for NYE, it wasn't crazy busy. The bill was 165.00 for 2 of us.
Time......It took 3 hours for 4 courses. Look, I understand it takes time to make fresh food but that isn't the problem here. Even with the owner there it was horrible. My dinner plate sat there for literally an hour while waiting for dessert. What takes an hour to make dessert? How does it take 40 minutes to bring water out? How do you let a plate sit there for an hour? Etc. Etc. Execution is the issue here not preparation.
Portion Sizes......We had what appeared to be 1/8 oz of fresh crab meat garnished with a 1/4 stick of asparagus, it was literally 3 bites. Next came the ravioli, all 2 of them.... the size of a quarter. Then the beef shortrib which I thought was a good size until I realized that 40% of it was fat and bone. The potatoes were good after using my phone's flashlight to find them. The macaroon was the biggest part of dinner but had less gelato than you get in a sample cup at Dunkin donuts.
The food really had great flavors and came out at the correct temperatures. The chef obviously knows what he is doing but it's not good enough to overcome the service.
I've eaten at restaurants with my customers at locales around the world. I've expensed bottles of wine that cost more than my dinner here. I don't mind paying for a great experience and perfect execution, but that was not what we had here. The best part about dinner was the company. I think it's great concept and has potential but it just...
Read moreThis is an excellent restaurant. Almost everything more on that) was perfect. Matt, our server, was very helpful and accommodating.
We had reservations for 5:00 when they opened, and I had indicated that it was a birthday celebration on the reservation. When we got there, (2nd group) they sat us in a very narrow, dark, near the back table. We asked to get a nicer table and luckily they accommodated us with a very nice window table.
We started with the Huckleberry Lavender Lemonade drink. It was good, and could taste all of the flavors. We also had the Donât Rush me, Rye drink which was Outstanding!
We were there for Magical Dining Month, (and my birthday) so my husband ordered the Short Ribs. They were perfect - tender, flavorful and large. Creamy mashed potatoes and cauliflower accompanied. Excellent dish.
I ordered the market salad (not pictured), it was as expected but large with a very nice âGrains of Paradiseâ dressing (creamy balsamic). I also ordered the Mussels. They were the only disappointing part of the meal. It was a big portion, with 2 very large pieces of thick, toasted bread. Some of the mussels had that fishy taste, which was not good, and the wine broth really lacked flavor. They were cooked properly, but not something I would order again. The dish was average at best.
Desserts were very, very good, in fact, I never eat a whole dessert but I did! The Chocolate Tres Leches cake was one of the best desserts ever. Iâm not positive of the flavor of the ice cream, but it was superb. The cheesecake was nice - very dense with fresh fruit on top. My sister said the CrĂšme BrĂ»lĂ©e was excellent, and she at the whole thing!
It is a very expensive restaurant, even during Magical dining, but the food is excellent for the most part, the atmosphere is nice and the service...
Read moreI had a disappointing experience at Market to Table restaurant that left me with a bad taste in my mouth. My party and I experienced long wait times between drinks, appetizers, and entrees, which made the dining experience feel disjointed and prevented us from fully enjoying the meal.
To make matters worse, the food was inconsistent and did not meet our expectations given the prices charged. I ordered the chicken dish, but the chicken was dry, and the pasta lacked any discernible flavor. Unfortunately, almost everyone in my party had similar issues with their entrees.
In addition to the issues with the food, one person in my party received their meal late, after everyone else had finished eating. This was a major inconvenience and detracted from the overall experience of dining with friends.
Despite these negative aspects, the server was the only redeeming quality of our meal. They provided exceptional service with their attentive and friendly demeanor, which helped to alleviate some of the frustration caused by the long wait times and inconsistent food.
To their credit, the restaurant recognized the issues and comped an entire check and an entrée. However, while these gestures were appreciated, they may not fully compensate for the disappointment we experienced during our meal.
Overall, Market to Table failed to meet our expectations, especially considering our previous positive experiences at the restaurant. The long wait times, inconsistent food, and issues with entrees were a letdown. We hope that the restaurant can learn from these mistakes and work to improve the quality of the dining experience for...
