Great to have an Indian restaurant in Winter Haven. Thanks to the owners. Now here is my tough critique and hopefully will help this place more as it has great potential to be even better. The naan was not crispy on the edges. The Dal Tadka was bland and flavorless (maybe the cook should add a bit more garlic, onions, and spices and it would be better.) However, the yellow peas shouldn't be so mushy and overcooked either. The Mutter Paneer was very tasty and great...but mushy. Also, the Chicken Satay had big chunks of chicken that should have been marinated overnight and cut into smaller pieces. It was tough to cut the large chicken pieces so if they would have marinated it then it would have tasted better and been tender to cut. Also, because it is "satay" it should really have smaller cut pieces of chicken. There need to be more Indian decorations to make the restaurant aesthetically more appealing as it has hardly any decorations. That is why people eat out in places like this so they can experience the culture too so having more wall tapestries and wall decor would give this busy place a better ambiance. Also, the waiter seemed so rushed and busy and at times grumpy. So they definitely should consider having at least 2-3 waiters to avoid the above. I am giving 4 stars as I know that times are hard for small businesses like this. Otherwise, I would have given the place 3 stars tops because of the...
Read moreWow, is Winter Haven lucky to have such an amazing new restaurant serving made-from scratch East Indian food! We called to make certain they were open and they were very polite and helpful; Friday we did not need a reservation for lunch. We arrived at lunchtime to an amazing aroma of spices and breads. Our Maitre D and wait staff were more than courteous explaining their vast options. Our party ordered Chicken Saag (ordered medium spicy) Lamb Neelgiri Korma (asked for mild) , Onion Naan (YUMMY homemade bread), and Junglee Lal Mass Lamb (asked for spicy). All four were superbly cooked, beautifully presented & so delicious! We shared with each other and shared with guests at adjacent tables, who allowed us to taste their incredible "dishes" (such as the Pompano specialty and Chilly's Mango Chicken). Everything we tasted was exquisite. Waiters were very attentive and offered drink refills, extra napkins, take home boxes. Other customers were as enthusiastic as we were and so thrilled that Winter Haven has a superb new restaurant. We highly recommend it! Parking lot has ample space, bathrooms were newly designed and clean. We did not try the vegetarian options or the soups & salad but will do so when we return. Many menu items can be served mild, medium or hot, so don't...

The food is amazing. Definitely awesome to have this in Winter Haven.
Interior - 4
The interior is simple, clean, and welcoming. Plenty of space and the atmosphere is warm. My only complaint is that the manager shouldn’t have been so focused on getting the rather loud music playing. I get it, growing pains, but it was difficult to carry a conversation.
Location - 3.5
The shopping mall this restaurant is in could use some modernization and a facelift. The exterior of the restaurant stands out and definitely makes the rest look sad.

While the wait staff are friendly and mostly attentive, there was no coordination or semblance of order when it came to table assignments. At the end of our meal we had three different waitresses. Unfortunately, one of the three had no idea what part of the meal we were on and assumed we were finished so she proceeded to clear our table. Fortunately our primary waitress informed her that we weren’t done and we received clean plates and silverware. The floor manager definitely needs to keep the staff organized and on their tables. Also, have the wait staff park somewhere that they can’t be seen smoking a cigarette prior to coming into work as that doesn’t create...
