We went to Sandy's before we met friends who were staying there. They highly spoke of a waitress, Abigail K. so we went to eat. Abigail was an amazing server, smiled, courteous, and an amazing personality, which I have to say was wasted on the Sandy's restaurant, she needed to be in a fine dining establishment. It was empty, the drinks abysmal, the food over priced for how disgusting it was. First of all I ordered a plate of nachos and chips, for $10, devoid of anything, so requested sour cream and guacamole, which Abby very graciously brought us on request. My husband ordered the MOJO grilled chicken for $20, which was best described as mediocre, "blah, no taste" and certainly not worth $20. The experience was horrible, and unfortunately I won't divulge my friends who felt awful about our experience. All I can offer as advice to management is don't waste great server's, like Abigail, in a restaurant that clearly has nothing to offer.
I would also like to add, that the drinks we ordered, a Pinot Grigio, served in a small plastic cup, was definitely not worth it. And I went back to the bar for the cocktail my husband ordered, and was deliberately ignored, not even asked why I was there, and when I was acknowledged, and complained that the drink tasted as though it had no alcohol in, was given an attitude by the bartender!!! Please, no one needs this at...
Read moreAre there twice for the breakfast buffet. Extremely busy and crowded. It's not actually a breakfast buffet! The server brought a platter to our table, as my family has varying dietary needs I asked for other things that were not on the standard buffet and our server was so visibly frustrated every time I asked him to get something. I would have loved to have gotten it myself but like I said it's not a buffet your server has to bring every single thing to you whether that is jelly, ketchup, sugar, tea, etc. The next day I ordered to go so I wouldn't have to deal with it an overstressed overworked server and they forgot close to half of what I asked for up front. I just felt like I was bothering everybody. If it's their design that it's not a buffet and you're still tipping the server, the server shouldn't roll their eyes at you when you ask for jelly to put on your biscuit or what kind of cereals they have...
Read moreI’m writing this review for the breakfast buffet. It was included in our stay at the Legoland beach resort . Chef Justin knows how to make breakfast. It was delicious and I am not a breakfast person but I wanted seconds!!! The biscuits are steamed then baked for added fluffiness. I would eat breakfast here again. Great play area for kids in the restaurant and lots of food choices for them.
Dinner is a whole other story and I sure hope chef Justin was not the one preparing it.Dinner tasted like lunchroom food/Denny’s. Beware if you purchased a Groupon it does not cover beverages which are $3.25. The Groupon did not cover appetizers or dessert all of which are not worth paying for. Go dine elsewhere come back for...
