This is the best place in the Orlando area to get fresh, delicious macarons! Located on Park Avenue in Winter Park, it is tucked back from the main street in one of the alcoves. (It's close to The Briarpatch restaurant.) It is a small shop with numerous French pastries, with an entire counter dedicated to various flavors of macarons! The establishment also has delicious pastries as well as sandwiches and gelato.
I stopped in this week for my regular macaron fix. I was assisted by Fred, who was both friendly and attentive. He told me he mentioned to his wife, Sonia, about my last visit and that she remembered me as a frequent customer. (How cool is that?! Sonia is also a joy to be around.) I told him to tell her Hi from me. Fred also told me their macarons are gluten free. So, if you are looking for a great gluten free dessert, look no further! I make a special trip here whenever I'm in the Winter Park vicinity.
This continues to be my No. 1 spot for outstanding in-house made macaroons! Next time you are in the neighborhood, stop in and...
Read moreDocking 2 points on service. I want to take another star away, but I have had good experiences in the past.
Their menu says coffee on it. I ordered a standard coffee and received an espresso. That is not a coffee and she had the nerve to argue with me! My husband ordered an iced coffee and received a hot coffee. When I asked for a refund she would not give me one. I had to find a substitute drink. Same for my husband. He had a couple sips but what she made wasn’t good.
Macrons were fine as always. I am not coming back due to the service being that bad. Also, the girl refused to give the bathroom code as well. Such a shame because it was a good place to go at one point. I walked by the area where that store is and just remember how bad my last experience was. You shouldn’t offer drinks other than bottles and cans until you have a trained barista. Especially if you leave...
Read moreWould not recommend. The Dubai strawberries. My strawberries were frozen and the chocolate tasted like cheap chocolate syrup from the supermarket. Would expect higher quality ingredients for the price point. When I asked the woman in the store for a refund after eating two of the berries to confirm they were frozen she said no but that she could go get me another one from the fridge in the back. Seeing how frozen my berries were I wasn't interested in getting a product that had been sitting in the fridge all day. I asked since I couldn't refund if I could get an exchange for a gelato. She said yes and my friend and I disposed of our frozen berries and each left with a single scoop of gelato...
