Dont let these reviews fool you, this place is average at best. Their menu prices for non-sushi items range between $20-35+ and its a toss up whether the price will be worth the product.
My partner got a katsu chicken dish w/ fried rice at about $25. It came with two whole filets of chicken and for the price was very very reasonable.
However I got the hibachi steak at $32+ and the steak to side item ratio was way off. I understand cooking with mushrooms but when I say there was twice the number of mushrooms than my steak I mean it. It made a little pile on my plate.
The hibachi vegetables which I normally loved were very oily but at least there was a mountain of rice?
Also, be aware, the miso soup here is not as watered down as in most restaurants and was a bit salty to me but still pretty good. Additionally I would not call the crab ragoons that at all. They're more like fried mush balls in a bed of sauce with micro greens everywhere.
And really! Someone needs to tell the head Chef it's okay not to pile micro greens on top of every dish. Just a pinch is fine? 😭
And OF COURSE to top it all off, here you are paying premium prices for dinner with relatively pretty dishes with a nice restaurant atmosphere and then here comes...SODAS IN A CAN!!!! OMG!!! What a way to be cheap!!
$14 -2 sodas per person on an already $80-90 dinner is ABSURD. The total came to over $100 and was unfortunately...
Read moreLet's begin... Walked in with my partner and asked to be seated outside as it was nice enough weather to do so. The plates and condiment bowls were already in a place setting, two were removed upon seating two remained. Once seated there was no server for 15 minutes until a man walked out and placed two glasses of water on the table, said nothing and walked away. Another 10 minutes pass and our server comes out, takes our drink and meal order and walks off. 5 minutes later our drinks (sprite in a can with a glass of ice) arrive with our desired condiments (spicy mayo/teriyaki 'we didnt order'). 30 minutes after our order had been placed I walked inside and told the staff that if our order wasn't walking out the kitchen I'd like to pay for the drinks and split. Our order was walking out. I follow our server outside with the food and she asks if there is anything else we need, I replied utensils and my partner a clean condiment bowl. The condiment bowl was brought by another staff and the utensils never showed. The service at this location is trash, judged as soon as we walked in the door. It doesn't matter if the food was good or not it's how they treat the people who come to be served. If this is the service they provide on a daily basis to different walks of life, they won't be open...
Read moreI went to Sushi Sake for lunch yesterday and I left upset because what was supposed to be a quick lunch experience turned into a long wait for them to fix my bill. I was charged for dinner price instead of the lunch special and because the waiter was new, it was an honest mistake, but I felt like a manager should have come and talked to me to expedite the process. I waited over an hour while they were trying to figure out how to change the bill. When I asked for a refill on an unsweetened tea with a lot of ice I was told it wasn’t free $3 for a refill with a skinny glass filled with ice doesn’t seem fair. I don’t mind paying the price for the sushi but I think refills should be free on sodas and iced tea. Anyways, I was never offered an apology by the manager for it taking so long or even a free ice tea refill while I waited. I was late coming back to work and I will not come back there. The food was good but it took way too long when there was only myself and one other person there. Customer service is everything and I’m not happy with my $40 lunch that ended up costing me more for waiting for the bill to be corrected because they couldn’t figure it out how to do in a timely manner. Again not the new waiters fault but I’m not happy with the lack of apology from the...
