This is a little, itty bitty, walk up space that has the best gelato! Love, love, and love their flavors and smooth texture. Will definitely go back for more (even in the winter!).
Flavors I absolutely loved: Nutty Squirrel (Salty Organic Peanut Butter base with dollops of Dulce de Leche Caramel Sauce and Stracciatella chocolate chips) - heavy on the PB flavor but still good. Turkish Coffee - amazing! If you love coffee, you have to get this! Its so rich, creamy, and the exact amount of coffee. Skyr Ligonberry yogurt - I'm not a huge berry person but this was just light enough yet still flavorful that i had to have it.
MENU: There are some places that go so crazy with their out of the box flavors that some times you wonder why, just why?! Nutty Squirrel has some traditional, some great mix flavors, and some adventures that isnt too crazy.
The only thing I wish they did was have the flavors description somewhere. We had to ask for explanation for each flavors that we didnt know right off the bat.
SERVICE: Great, friendly service, especially on a dead Saturday night in the middle of winter. I know after the pandemic most dessert places are offering tasting again, and Nutty is one of them :) I hate not being able to try flavors...
Read moreWarning to other families with food allergies: ask to see the written ingredients! My kids are allergic to all nuts and I asked the store to verify the vanilla and chocolate flavors had NO nuts. They confirmed no nuts in either flavor. 30 minutes after having the chocolate gelato, my kid had an anaphylactic food allergy reaction and we epi-pen and took him to the ER. We called the store to ask them to verify the ingredients. The store owner asked us to call back to the store for information, but after insisting for the details so we could convey the right information to the ER he sent a photo that chocolate contains hazelnut and almond. We recommend that all employees are trained to verify and know ingredients in each flavor. If we didn’t carry an epi pen and got our child to the ER in time (we were on bikes) this would have been a very...
Read moreTL;DR: small proportions, slightly overpriced, no indoor seating. Nothing stood out but it is a nice place to get that "small bite" of something sweet if you need.
The current "okay" health score (9/2024) is a bit concerning considering how small the establishment is.
Parking: there is a small parking garage nearby or street side parking if you don't mind walking.
Atmosphere: Open front gelato shop with no in door seating. Plenty of uncovered outdoor seating on counter level chairs.
Service: friendly service. Order and pay at the front, you may try samples of flavors if you wish.
Overall nothing wowed me too much. The proportions were small the and price was a bit high. I personally would prefer to go elsewhere for the atmosphere and larger...
