Ok, Had to review this place. Yes their yakisoba is $9.25, (kinda pricy I know) and sure you can find many places with $7.50 yakisoba... but their portions are HUGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's by far a better deal than most Teriyaki spots. It's like you're getting about 50% more food for only a buck $.75 more! Oh and if you like prawns, no worries still the same price! They're not stingey like most places either (that only give you only like 6-8 prawns)... I lost count...there were a lot!
Taste: Some teriyaki spots fall short because they cook their noodles and THEN marinated them after they're cooked with often too-salty-to-enjoy teriyaki sauce. This place was a real surprise, their yakisoba noodles have a nice golden color because they were actually cooked with the sauce (so the noodles got nice and flavorful without having that unpleasant puddle of sauce underneath the plate. I will also like to add that their fried rice has a very pleasant kinda smokey flavor to it, certainly chinese restaurant quality worthy... (only this one is $5 cheaper)
It was plentiful, it was delicious... check it out...
Read moreThis has been my go-to, favorite of all times, teriyaki joint since the early 90s. The love for Minami has been so deep in my heart that I've overlooked the negative changes since it changed hands last year. Higher prices for smaller portions, lower quality chicken cuts, etc. Tonight, unfortunately, was my last visit. I ordered the Chicken and Gyoza combination. It was listed as 6 pcs of gyoza with a 7.99 price point. I was served up a very small portion of chicken and 5 gyoza. I asked the employee if I could get the additional gyoza that was advertised and he proceeded to disagree me and explain that the menu was wrong. Wrong price and it should have only said 5 gyoza. Huh? Not sure how I was supposed to have known that. He told me it was his fault, sorry. But corrected nothing. Then to top it off I had a piece of styrofoam in my salad. Yikes. A sad last visit, ending my 25 year relationship with Minami. I will miss you, dear delicious...
Read moreFood was very tastsy but extraordinarily late in arrival. My gyoza was lukewarm at best. Plate after plate passed me by to customers who walked in way after me. I threw my hands up in disgust. She promptly walked over and sorry apologised for wait. Asked her what the hold up was and she responded "my chicken was fresh and took longer." Blown away I asked her was the other customers food not fresh. Unbelievable she responded that it wasnt!!!! Wow cant believe she admit that in front of customers. I truly think she lied instead of being transparent and saying my order got skipped and or customer discrimination toward me....
