Being 2nd generation, my love for Greek food runs deep in my veins, but I certainly don't consider myself an expert or critic. That being said I was happy with my [to go] meal. The gentlemen working were very friendly and my food was ready in ~5 minutes during lunch hour.
Gyro salad half chicken half lamb: didn't know which meat I wanted so they gave both. The lamb was as good as any I've ever had, perfect seasoning and texture, it was the shining star. The chicken was just ok, not super flavorful and pretty dry, closer to jerky texture. The portions of meat was excellent. I would have loved more dressing on the salad but I tend to really love my condiments sauces and dressings. Somehow there was a good amount of liquid at the bottom of the salad despite the lack of dressing? (Which I'm pretty sure is tzatziki.) The flavor of dressing didn't shine through enough I guess, not that it should overpower anything, but those bites that didn't have gyro meat just tasted like, well, plain lettuce.
Hummus: perfect hummus in my opinion! Just the kind that speaks to my soul when I'm craving it. A bit more expensive than I'm used to but in my opinion worth it once in a while.
Baba ghanouj: not the style I like but it wasn't gross or anything. I tend to enjoy a more lemon flavor. This baba is VERY smoky, not my jam at all. I definitely feel like this wasn't a great way to spend nearly $8 but I ain't...
Read moreOrdered maybe 30+ times in my couple years in the area. Good food, love the unique options like their Gyro Over Fries and lentil soup, along with sleeper ingredients like their feta, garlic sauce, and tzatziki. Large portions and decent prices, although the prices for things like additional meat and soups/sides could use some reworking.
The final product lacks consistency, especially if you order through a food delivery service or go near closing, where your order won't see the cooktop as it's already been prepared as much as possible so they can get out earlier. It seems consistency is much better when the manager is around and ensuring the other employees do things correctly. I think they struggle to get everyone on the same page for procedures. Glad they stay open as late as they do but I think customers should get the same product no matter what time or who cooks it.
I have my gripes but the staff is super friendly and quick, plus the taste is usually great.
Pro tip: Order Shawarma Over Fries (not on menu). When they make it properly and fresh,...
Read moreWhat a hidden gem! GREAT gyros...best I've found. They load them up good with ample lamb, cucumber, tzaziki sauce, tomato, feta, onion and lettuce. They truly make it a meal. It's very tasty, too...zesty, creamy, crunchy, tender, and chewy. Crazy good. They hit all the bases. And the staff are great. Very accommodating to make sure you're getting the gyro you want and they are obviously proud of the food they serve. Great to see that level of enthusiasically-engaged service, especially in a quick-serve establishment. And did I mention the decor? It's contemporary and very stylish, yet is warm and harks to its Mediterranean roots. As a designer, the aesthetic of the space factors into my enjoyment of any dining experience. Wasn't expecting much as far as decor, but was very pleasantly surprised for a quasi-strip suburban mall set-up. With the great food, awesome staff, and stylish digs, it's my new guilty food pleasure when in Woodinville. By all means, check this place out. Your eyes, soul, and tummy...
