Tacos Del Gordo food truck — Restaurant in Woodland Park

Really looked forward to trying this place but unfortunately I didnt and wont waste my time or theirs again. I walked up at 3pm, open sign flashing, stood there with the two people inside just staring at me through the closed windows, I waited and smiled while making eye contact with both. Stood there some more. The guy on the left looking at his phone, looked at me and looked down a couple times. I looked at the lady on the right as she was talking on her phone, she made eye contact a couple of times, same thing. Neither one opened a window, neither one made a hand gesture as to just give them a moment, they both just sat there and ignored me. I finally shook my head and walked away. If I'm a bother I don't want to eat there. Too bad I heard it was really good, but...

I went there because I heard it was delicious...I won't be going back. I got the pollo asado quesadilla, and when I asked if there were any sides of sour/guac/etc the guy said the "supreme" had that plus pico, rice, and beans (this is not on the menu btw). I thought these were actual sides, but they put all the ingredients inside the quesadilla (except the rice, which was missing). The guy slammed the window in my face after I ordered and had a suspicious grin when I picked up. I'm not sure what kind of meat I actually got but it definitely wasn't pollo asado. The whole thing was flavorless and the beans were dry, which added to the texture cacophony. I tried to pick it apart to see what could be eaten but after just a couple of bites I threw the rest away. $11...

What a great little gem parked at Banana Belt Liquor! I've tried their carnitas, carne asada and BIRRIA and have been VERY impressed the three times (so far) we've ordered from them. Special touches include a blistered jalapeno nestled next to the tacos and the marinated carrots & onion available on the shelf under the window. Very reasonably priced, tacos are $3.50, burritos are $11, if I remember correctly. Grab a beer from the store to enjoy with your meal for a treat!

Hours are: Thursday through Sunday, 2pm to 8pm. I wish they were open earlier for lunch...
