I cannot leave a review for food as I never actually received food. My one piece of advice is do not use the app, as you will not get your food or they will get the order wrong. We had a miserable experience over memorial day weekend and ended up never getting our food and I now I am having to get my credit card company to fight the charges that I was told were cancelled. They were not.
We placed an order around 6:30PM on the Sonic App as we pulled into the parking lot. The order included a popcorn chicken meal with tots and coke, an ice cream cup, and a limeade slushie. We parked in Stall 4 and followed the prompts to let the carhops know we were here and checked in. We had just submitted the order so we knew it would take a few minutes to prepare. Over 10 minutes pass and our carhop never came out. The stall screen had reset at this point so we pushed the button to let them know we were still waiting on delivery.
Once a carhop arrived with a bag of food (no drinks or ice cream) she informed us that the slushie machine was broken and she was happy to bring us another beverage in its place, which is perfectly fine. Once she walked away, I realized I had received fries instead of tots. At this point I left my car to meet her by the kitchen doors. She came out with one drink and I explained my side was wrong and we were missing a drink and ice cream. and gave her the food bag back to verify. She said, no the ticket only printed this and showed me the kitchen ticket which did not match what I had ordered. I told her I had ordered something different and showed her my receipt email which was correct. She continued to argue that she could only bring what was on her printed ticket. I eventually asked her to just correct my order please.
I believe she went inside to ask the manager what to do. When she came back out, she had paper and wrote down what was on my receipt and said they would take off the slushie. I said great, thanks. She came back out a few minutes later to say that they had cancelled my original order and she needed my credit card to charge me for the new correct order. At this point I did not trust her with my credit card and said that if she had cancelled my original order and I was getting my money back to just leave it at that and left. We spent over 30 minutes waiting and arguing to leave with no food. And today I noticed that my original charge was not cancelled or refunded.
I understand that tech issues happen, they are no one's fault. What I don't understand is why I was argued with over what I ordered through an app after I had shown my receipt and then why she couldn't just grab a tot, coke, and ice cream cup to make my order whole. I have never had good experiences using the app and I probably should not have used it but the way the whole situation was handled was just unacceptable and could have been fixed easily. I did not want a refund for the slushie since it was being substituted, I was charged the correct amount originally. I don't know why it was made as complicated as it was. I have submitted feedback directly to sonic, attempted to contact the general manager and area manger per the contact info provided at the restaurant, but no one has answered my calls and the emails provided reject emails sent. They are clearly not open...
Read moreTerrible experience using mobile ordering and ended up paying $25 for old, soggy food that mostly just ended up in the trash. Placed the order through my phone app, pulled into a stall and then checked in using the app like it instructed. Almost 30 minutes go by even though I can see my name and order on the screen and that it's being prepared and on its way.
Watch about 10 cars go through drive-thru during this time, and finally used the call button to ask what was going on. I'm then told that they're only doing drive-thru. But they never bothered to tell me that through the stall speaker, and the mobile app doesn't even have an option to get your order through the drive-thru anywhere. Guy comes out with our bag about 60 seconds later and I tell him there's no way that food was just cooked that fast and he says, "yeah we made the food when the order was placed" and I said that was over 30 minutes ago! Told him I'd just been sitting there waiting the whole time because the screen said the order was coming. He said they'd make some of the food again but there's no chance I'm going to gamble on that after waiting so long and just took the order and went home.
Soggy fries, soggy pickle fries, soggy tots, and of course everything was cold. Oh and all the stuff that is easily squished like the coney dog and tots because they put them in those foil trays? On the bottom of the bag of course and complete mush, crushed by everything else on top. One coney dog basically turned into a disgusting mix of the toppings and bun with the hot dog itself pushed out of the tray entirely. It was all just a nasty pile of garbage. We ended up throwing away all the coney toppings and eating near-plain hotdogs with forks and condiments we had in the fridge, and "mashed tots" for lack of a better term. All of the sides were unsalvageable even in the air fryer and went in the trash.
Complete waste of my time and money, I'm done with this place. Their broken ordering system and terrible service is reason enough for me to never come...
Read moreLess than impressed… my husband and I really enjoy sonic and we haven’t been in a while so we decided to stop in while we ran errands before I had to go to work in the evening. We waited 10 mins after pressing the call button before I called inside and asked if they were open. They picked up sounding annoyed that someone called in the first place and sounded even more annoyed that I had said we were sitting in a stall waiting to order. They sent someone out to take our order and after about 20 minutes after our order is taken we are still waiting for our food, no communication made by the staff or explication on why a sandwich, hotdog and two drinks were taking so long. I get out of my car to ask what’s taking so long and see the employees playing on their phones and sipping on drinks while leaning up against the wall by no means looking like they were working or trying to get orders made. They claimed to be understaffed but they by no means even looked like they were trying to work. Horrible service.it took 45 minutes of waiting, 2 phone calls, and walking into the kitchen for our food to finally make it to us and when I opened my order it was wrong. Im beyond upset at this point and tell them I don’t even want it any more and would just like a refund, the girl grabbed the manager on duty who proceeded to try to tell me what I ordered came the way it had been made to which I responded that the menu said bacon or sausage and I had only wanted bacon and the sandwich I had been given also had lettuce and tomato and it was not supposed to. She offered to remake the sandwich herself and we finally received our order. All I received aside from that was an apology and a flimsy excuse of being understaffed when I saw 5 employees in the kitchen and there were no more than 3 cars there at a time.
