I'd leave negative scoring if possible. My wife and I took my 8 year old grandson to go bowling 2 days ago. When we walked in, there was a sign saying that no food, drinks or bathrooms were open for use. We debated leaving since the facility (in my opinion) really shouldn't have opened given the lack of service and facilities. We decided to try it anyway. We do not go bowling often but wanted to take our grandson out to do this. There were 4 people at the check-in, but only one was actually doing anything, so there was a line of 5 people in front of us. After a lengthy wait, we finally got up to the front. They suddenly switched to another person to do the check-in. We asked what the best deal was for us and he said the option for 1 hour and 3 people, at over $12 per person, including shoes. We didn't know any better so we took that. As soon as my grandson took his first shot, the lane shut down completely. After trying to get it to start, I finally had to go up to the front to get help. A maintenance guy had to go down the lane and get it going again. In the meanwhile, the 1 hour clock kept ticking. We bowled 1 complete game and about 1/3 of the next game before the lane just shut down completely. We had only been able to bowl for 43 minutes (I had it on my timer). I went up to the front and told the guy who said he'd give me 15 more minutes. I agreed and went back. I expected that the game would pick up where it had left off. Nope. It wanted us to start a brand new game. What would have happened is that we would only be able to bowl a partial game before it cut off again. UNACCEPTABLE! My wife went up and let them know that we were not going to do that. This time, she was talking to the manager. The manager said that if he had checked us in, he would have recommended that we take the "Kids bowl for free" option instead of 3 bowlers for an hour. The guy who checked us in obviously didn't know about that, or didn't care enough to suggest what made the most sense, and what was the best option for us. My wife then said she wanted some money back because of the terrible bowling experience and the fact that none of the facilities were working (food, drinks, bathrooms). The manager said that "... was a separate issue". Again, that's an unacceptable answer. He finally wrote on a piece of paper that we would get a free game for 3 people for our next visit. Not sure we'll ever go back to this place. Our impression isthat the place is poorly run and the staff really don't care if their patrons enjoy the experience or not. Do yourselves a favor, and pick a different...
Read moreI recently visited Stars and Strikes Family Entertainment Center on Highway 92 in Woodstock, GA, and had a fantastic experience that’s well worth sharing. My family and I were looking for a fun outing, and this place delivered with its wide range of activities and welcoming atmosphere. The facility is modern, clean, and spacious, with 24 bowling lanes, including some VIP options that add a nice touch for special occasions. Beyond bowling, they offer laser tag, bumper cars, axe throwing, and a massive arcade, which kept everyone in our group entertained for hours. The staff was friendly and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed to enjoy our time. The bowling experience itself was a highlight. The lanes were well-maintained, and the scoring system was easy to use, with fun game modes that added variety to our session. We appreciated the option to order food and drinks right from our lane, and the menu had something for everyone—think burgers, pizzas, and appetizers like fried pickles that hit the spot. Our food arrived promptly, and the robot delivery system was a quirky, kid-pleasing touch. While the food isn’t gourmet, it’s solid for a family entertainment center, and the convenience of eating while bowling made the experience seamless. We also took advantage of a Sunday morning special, which offered discounted bowling and arcade games, making it a great value for a family outing. What really stood out was how Stars and Strikes caters to all ages, making it a versatile spot for families, date nights, or even group events. The arcade was a hit with the kids, who loved redeeming their tickets for prizes, while the adults in our group enjoyed the lively atmosphere and the Blue Bar for a quick drink. The only minor hiccup was a short wait for a lane, but the staff kept us updated, and we passed the time in the arcade without issue. Overall, Stars and Strikes provided a fun, memorable day out, and we’re already looking forward to our next visit. It’s a great spot for anyone in the Woodstock area looking for entertainment that...
Read moreMonday 02/26/24 my kids came to visit me from Florida and I thought I would take them somewhere fun so we picked Stars and Strikes here in Woodstock, GA, but we were not impressed.
First we arrived at around 8:30pm, but I was excited about the whole experience and didn’t pay attention to the daily special of $4 per person, so they charged $207 for 7 adults and 1 child, it would have been nice if the lady behind the counter would have told me to hold off a few more minutes until 9pm to get the discount, I would have saved over $150, especially when my food and bar bill was $260. I’m also a military veteran and they do offer military discount, but when I inquired, the manager said I already paid and it was too late.
They start the two hour clock right when you pay, which sucks because it takes 8 people that don’t bowl very often around 25 minutes to get organized, since we are not regulars, it would have been nice if the person at the counter would have warned me about that, maybe start the clock after we get our shoes.
The lane broke down twice and I had to remind them to give additional time on the clock because on the lane computer screen there is a Service button which no one responds to, so after waiting 5 minutes, I went to the counter and it took them 10 minutes to come and fix it, this happened twice and they only added 10 minutes to my time.
As the head of of this family group it was embarrassing to take my kids to a place like this. You can really see the lack of maintenance starting with the big chunk of formica missing from the table top in our lane, and the pins not resetting twice, also the bumpers would come up sometimes for the kids and other times they would just stay down.
I will say the server was absolutely wonderful, and I can’t say enough about her, but unfortunately the rest of the experience was horrible and I will looking for another place to go bowling. Next time I will try Bowlero Bowling to see...
