Disclaimer: I realize the following charges are stated in the contract, but the gym has previously been helpful in working with me regarding my personal situation up to this point Poor customer service. I had signed a 6 month contract in June and had some personal things come up where I needed to cancel my membership - Ed was very helpful and offered to work with me. I decided to stick it out and pay through December, when my contract was up. Come to find out, the contract doesn’t end - it just transfers to month-to-month payments - since I didn’t realize this, I was then told I would have to pay the $80 for January and a $30 cancellation fee. I told Ed that I was not prepared to pay my December fees + $110 upfront. He was very nice and understanding, just as he had been in the past, and told me to come in and he would work with me. I did, but unfortunately met with Sean. He was extremely rude, demeaning, and not understanding. The only way he was willing to work with me was to waive the $30 fee, and when I told him that I was upset about the entire situation and surprise of paying beyond my contract, he told me that he no longer saw a benefit in helping me out by waiving the fee if I was going to be upset. Seriously? Aside from the fact that it’s good customer service, and the courteous thing to do? It was as if he was trying to intimidate me. He also alluded to the idea that since Ed has helped me previously, it was the least I could do to pay January’s fees and that’s why he wouldn’t help me beyond the cancellation fee. He seemed upset that Ed has helped me previously and I didn’t pay in full of my 6 months (which was courteous clientele relations on Ed’s part, the only reason I decided to continue paying through December). I ended up having to pay $175 upfront - but Sean was sure to tell me that he was very helpful in waiving the fee of $30 - as if I should be indebted to him for being so generous. At the very least, I would have expected a courtesy call regarding my contract ending and transferring to a month-to-month payment plan (to prevent having to pay another $110). Or have it highlighted in the contract, or mentioned in my previous conversation regarding cancelling my membership. As another side note, these trainers are not all certified. When my boyfriend tore something in his shoulder, a trainer who previously told him that he has no certification but only fight experience, encouraged my boyfriend to TRAIN THROUGH HIS INJURY. No certified trainer would encourage someone to continue to work out a torn ligament. Disappointed in this gym that has a good amount of positive reviews. While it would have been on my mind to rejoin when able, I wouldn’t even recommend it to a friend after today’s demeaning...
Read moreI believe most of these 5-star reviews are due to customers being rewarded with free merchandise and are not necessarily genuine. But, lets be honest. The only reason I signed the two year contract is because my trainer worked out there. He liked it because of the 24-hour option and multiple locations. However, LADIES, please be advised that I never felt safe going to any location by myself in the early morning as several locations (Sandy Springs & Norcross) had homeless sleeping in the bathrooms overnight. Management was aware of this. The gyms are small with limited equipment which is why we rotated locations. Don't be surprised if you are working with two machines and someone tries to work in.
If after 5PM, the music was off so if you forget your music its like working out in a library. Unless, of course, there is a class and then two completely different types of music will be playing making yours worrthless. And forget customers or gym attendants re-racking weights or dissinfecting equipment. I never saw that happen. I don't know how Tapout was able to stay open during COVID.
I would also recommend that you check the qualifications of their trainers. Make sure they aren't just certified online or you could end up with an injury. We watched plenty of "trainers" run customers through exercise programs they had no business doing at their level of experience. Lastly, know that once you sign that contract, you'll never be able to get out of it. Even after visits, phone calls, and emails to the gym and the owner. Read the other reviews. If you have another choice, spend your money somewhere else. Anywhere else....
Read moreDon’t fall for the fake 5 star reviews, because A.) the owner buys positive reviews in bulk (yes you can do that nowadays) and B.) no one in their right mind would pay over $100 a month for such an outdated dump of a gym. Seriously, the owner isn’t replaced a THING since the gym was “Tapout”. Remember Tapout being cool 20 years ago? Yeah. That’s how old and outdated the equipment/machines are. The owner has trouble paying the internet bill so wifi isn’t an option most of the time (I listen to various podcasts l/youtube channels while working out so the whole “no internet” thing put a damper on that) and the owner goes to Planet Fitness to work out LOL. When I called him out on it, he responded with “I’m at MY gym all day, I just go to Planet Fitness to get a change of scenery”. LOL yeah right, even the OWNER knows what a joke his gym is and he has the audacity to be a Planet Fitness customer all while scamming people out of money with his dumpster fire of a gym. Seeing him describe the gym as “state of the art” is laughable but also infuriating considering how many people he screws over on a daily basis. Woodstock will be a much better place once his business tanks, which it inevitably will, because what goes around comes around. You don’t have to believe me, go and see for yourself but you’ve been warned. Side note to ATLFitness’ owner: go ahead and delete this review, I’ll continue copying/pasting/posting it AGAIN since people need to know what a fraud you are. With New Years around the corner, ATLFitness shouldn’t even be an option for individuals who are considering...
