I wasn't going to give a review after the last time I ordered from China garden because the lady did refund me the $8 that she knowingly overcharged my debit card and then lied to me about it....however... I figured I would give them one last shot and just pay cash this time. Now I can say with full certainty that I will never eat here again! I expected the eye rolls and the attitude for calling her out on her scam that shes been stealing from all her loyal customers who use debit or credit for many years... But I did not expect to be sick after taking no more than four to five bites of my food and having to rush to the bathroom a couple minutes afterwards. My boyfriend, my two kids and I just had the worst case of food poisoning we have ever experienced. Even my 10-year-old son noticed her rudeness and awkward vibes as she also whispered to the cook when I arrived and said my name out loud to him. If you order from here and use a debit or credit card check every single transaction that they make because they will try to upcharge you like she did me and my boyfriend many times. Sometimes she would add two or three dollars and other times it was 6 to $8. The receipt that she gave me to sign said $29 and some change , but the notification that I got from my bank for the transaction that just went through was for $36 and some change. When I called her about it she lied and said that my bank was wrong and then promised to send me a screenshot of the receipt and of course never did. Then the next day my bank notified me that she refunded me some of the money back that she illegally stole. To each their own...I'm just telling MY experience to warn those who...
Read moreI went through all 5 stages of grief over them being closed during the covid crisis. Driving past to go get some type of other food, trying not to turn my head and look. But what is this? A few days ago I see some construction inside and I rejoice! I had to plan it carefully to make absolutely sure I got some food from them the day they reopened. I knew an absolute sea of people would all be scrabbling to phone in their orders so I called in 6 hours in advance. When I arrived to pick up my food. The parking lot is full and there is a line of people stretching around the building. My heart sinks, what if there is some problem and I can't get my food? How much extra would someone accept for their order if I could not get mine? Double? Triple? I try to put that out of my mind and go take my place in line. Then it hit me like a truck. The smell of everyone's orders being cooked inside. I had not forgotten, and the smell it taunted me as I waited. Fast forward. I get home, tear open the bag and take that first bite. Unbelievable how good it is. The second to fifth bite, still holding steady and defying belief. Then things got out of control and I knew that saving half for lunch tomorrow was no longer an option. In all seriousness though folks. I have never been disappointed in the quality of my food when eating some...
Read moreSmall Chinese restaurant & carry-outs like this are virtually in every city you go to. The small City of Wooster is no exception. Wooster has had it's fair share of Chinese takeaway restaurants too. When my friend's wife inquired why we go there to get "fake" Chinese food for carryout instead of ordering from Basil downtown I find myself explaining that while China Garden isn't a fancy downtown restaurant, you get more bang for your buck, the food tastes great and they are quick. You can eat there too if you wish. They don't have a delivery service, but who cares. Centrally located on hamburger Hill in the heart of beautiful Wooster Ohio. ...
